Still none the wiser, i knew the colour was darkish grayish green metallic 4, that doesn't make sense to the motor factors i went to.

    Thanks Mojo

I've achieved a lifelong ambition to finally own one, and she is as near to mint as you can get, the front mudguard is possibly the only imperfection with a few stone chips. I've blade1 to thank for letting me know about it. :)

I agree :D I've bought it a few presents today, vac bag, paddock stand, paddock hooks, and autosol.

What colour busa's did you have?

Ownership on mine was completed by midday yesterday, and i took delivery at midday on Wednesday, very fast turned around in the circumstances.

If my wife is looking in, i haven't told her yet that i've made purchases, i'm sorry dear, i hope the credit card bill doesn't put you into labour :pac:

last one was a 2005 blue/silver one. Fitted a double bubble screen, heated grips and a scottoiler, but apart from that, it was completely standard.
    2005_GSX1300R_bl_snett_800.jpg

It was written off after a low speed crash (someone did a u turn in front of me) and i decided not to keep it.

One before that was a 2003, with microns, screen and cant remember anything else, so I guess that was it.
    2003_GSX1300R_bk-slv_450.jpg
Sold it to replace it with a k8 gsxr thousand

I could possible have a factory workshop manual laying around for them, if i find it you are welcome to it.

edit - found a picture of the last one i had, plus some random pictures of bikes over the years.

I never thought the blue/silver looked well on them. The 03 was a lovely colour :D

Nothing worse than car drivers not looking where they are going, I hope you were ok?

Anything at all you would have is genuinely appreciate it, the dealer I bought it from is going to try and obtain the original plus some service history I think once all of this blows over, no guarantees on it though.

I’ll throw ya a few bob for if no problem.

The blue/silver looks good in that photo now actually. All lovely looking bikes, which of the 3 did you enjoy the most?

Is that fat_bloke's R1 in the group pic?

I don't think so, that was the down syndrome run the day before Martin finnegan was killed. I think fat bloke was riding the Buell then, or possibly nothing.

So picked up the wee fazer over the weekend, impressed with it as a package. It's nippy, comfy, and should be perfect for what i want it for.

    Ergos suit ya?

same brakes as the r6, they stopped me fine. I would imagine they are way more than the bike needs. I'll qualify this by saying that I havent ridden a 600 in about 15 yrs. It has no mid range, and no top end, although I didnt really try too hard. It's nippy, but not litre bike nippy.
Handling wise, i didnt really get to try it out, as the spin home was mostly motorway, with a couple of roundabouts, but i did feel comfortable on it straight away.

You are sat very upright on it - foot pegs are low and forward, bars are high and back. very different to what I am used to. Screen is small, but you can tuck in behind it handy enough.

When the lockdown is over, ill get out for a good spin on it and post back some more thoughts. in the meantime, it's time to empty my wallet on some goodies.

Well wear, I love my 05 fazer. Tis no Busa but its comfortable, reliable and good in traffic so ideal commuter with enough zip for the weekend spin as well (when we're allowed to have it again...)

Well wear, I happened to be reading about the fazer as a mate asked me about them and it said it had a pretty decent top end compared to other 600s.

    what year is it

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,590 ✭✭✭MojoMaker

Had a frog-eye 2002 from new way back when. Loved it. Could have been better on fuel for a 600 but agile in traffic, decent screen, not that heavy, and a generous underseat space which could actually hold your chain, lock, and tools.

    2007 @listermint

The underseat storage is poor on this thanks to the underseat exhaust. :(

Boring stuff, scottoiler, screen, ground anchor, heated grips, garrett gt25 turbo, exhaust manifold, intercooler and megasquirt ecu.

I may have made some of that up.
