  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,620 ✭✭✭Graham_B18C

Now thats a beautiful car, I would of thought with that many HKS goodies, it'd be pushing out more than 350ps?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,279 ✭✭✭ronanc15

Its owned by Wez that owns WKD imports and if I remember correctly its pricetag was 65k a few months back. This may have dropped. The car is simply stunning in the flesh. Its presence is staggering

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,819 ✭✭✭liam7831

Ya savage motor but the price sounds a little crazy, after all a new GTR can be got for 65 sterling. Id rather fork out the extra doe imo.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,747 ✭✭✭Wez

    Nice name he has too..

65k well spent imo, I've seen 3 gtr's so far, I've yet to see this..

    I'd still take the evo!!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 327 ✭✭cps_goodbuy

A once off "anything" in my opinion doesn't qualify for being called rare as its a once off, kinda like a custom guitar, modified by whomever for whatever. Lets say, the "FAB 1", there is only really one out there thats genuine, but wouldn't clasify it as rare in my book. Same goes for any "special"

Rare in my opinion is something completely different.

Maybe something like a Mazda Cosmo 20b, I think there are 2 in Ireland, or an original Peel P50 :D

Limited runs or specially turned out versions of cars made in runs like 100, 59, 10, such as cars that were made in a limited run to allow racing entry, I classify as rare.

Anyhows, back to the Evo! fine looking car with a few mods, not my style

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 752 ✭✭✭JimmyCrackCorn!

I was thinking a classic car that there is literally one of.

A fiddled with with rx7 is still an rx7. An evo is an evo no matter whos bits you stick to it.:)

You know "a rose by any other name........."

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 327 ✭✭cps_goodbuy

Wasn't there a really common coupe in the 70's but there're only a handful left now as they rusted so so so badly :( *tries to think*

    oh well, can't remember but...

Really trying to remember this, but there is (I think!) an original irish "french" Panhard Convertible that a guy in the west restored from almost nothing. Now thats pretty "rare" as a global example, almost one of a kind, supposed to be the only one of its type left, even though there were many made.

So yeah, I'll nominate the above panhard as a true rarest car in Ireland contender.

First time I've seen that Evo and it looks stunning. The body kit is big but it blends so well in white. Reminds me of the S1 Audi Quattro back in the 80's.

For that high a price, I'd buy something else :P

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 327 ✭✭cps_goodbuy

    a "few of" something else

Honda Accord Coupes are extremely rare here in Ireland, I think I remember reading only 2 ever imported

If i wanted to be a smart arse id say an Rx7 thats not for sale. (sorry rx7 owners)

I personally would have gone with this as an easy answer, there was only one and i don't think it was/is registered here.

The Altezza itself isnt rare, but a mate of mine has a Ltd edition Toms Turbo model. AFAIK, only 500 were ever made.

Im yet to see another one in the country.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 327 ✭✭cps_goodbuy

That is interesting, as I'm a Beams head. I believe there are 6 or 7 Altezza Beams Turbos over here but do not know if they are "Toms Tuned" or No-name's

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 12,102 ✭✭✭✭Drummerboy08

AFAIK, the 500 cars were taken from Toyota and brought to Toms to be tuned. His one is running close to 300bhp at the minute!

Toms have also done something similar with the current IS250, but i cant seem to find any links to it...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 218 ✭✭Nic'name

Holy crap that Evo is SAVAGE!!! I can't afford another car though but when I get another one (as in an extra car as I'm not selling my Impreza) I'm getting one of them. Now what will I name him.......

*runs off to do the lotto*

As far as I can see, it's just a modified Evo so it's not a rare car so to speak as there's plenty of Evo's around. If you want rare and raw, look at the TVR sagaris, cheaper than the evo, better looking than the evo, rarer than the evo and it'll deffo keep you on your toes!

Oh, and the only 1 in the country, is 1 of 2 07 reg cars, 2 of the last ever TVR's to registered!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,614 ✭✭✭BadCharlie

    Lada

could have been the same one ,are you sure its a cc3 version ,was it big and shapley and wide or a little boxey ,if so its a vigour cc2 version which is very alike ,you can tell em apart by the front the bottom spot lights are orange on the cc2 (vigour) and clear on the cc3 (inspire).if it is an inspire id be very intrested to locate another

ive seen some posts with people refering to cars registered in ireland where can you look at this

This is one of the rarest cars in Ireland:

A Genuine Toyota Aristo V300 Turbo.

And yes before anybody says is a Lexus GS300, its is the jap only edition with the supra turbo engine (J2Z-GTE)

Lexus GS300 has chassis JZS160. Turbo aristo has JZS161

My brothers car is the only one of its kind in ireland:
Year: 1999 Colour: nissan qm3 superwhite

This is a very rare car autech confirmed only 36 were ever made due to their cost of 3.2 million yen. Which was more than a brand new evo at the time!

There are a lot more than that. around 200 at a guess.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 125 ✭✭YraggarY

Ah Colm, I wasn't aware you were active on Boards! :) I was going based on the register over at the Sera site! I should probably keep schtum in future! :pac:

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 73,520 ✭✭✭✭colm_mcm

maybe there are less, or people are playing down the actual numbers of them around :D

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 125 ✭✭YraggarY

I can't imagine there being all that many though.. Most people who have one would probably have googled them to find info about parts etc., and surely would've come across the forum? Then again, not everybody says hello! :pac:

Anyone know any numbers, V.R.O. number perhaps, that could tell you how many of each type of car are registered in the country?

Could put an end to the Rarest car in Ireland question! :p
