I know it's very likely this has been posted before in this thread but I can't not post it again after watching the sheer level of skill and execution that these 2 guys pull off. It's a bit of a fireball fest but man these guys are incredible.

I also post this for anyone who hasn't actually watched this series of Japanese player vids. Truly impressive play from what in my opinion isn't hardly seen or documented enough. Everyone knows the Japanese are the best but we so rarely get to see why because it's so hard to find footage of their games that hasn't been seen before.

Anyway watch this and especially watch Mago's opening in the second round and then Daigo's response and how it turns out, sweet jesus they do the matchup proud.

    *deep breath*

Bishoujo Senshi Sailor Moon S: Jougai Rantou! Shuyaku Soudatsusen.

    Whew.

This game is crazy enough at the best of times, but just wait for Sailor Uranus to pop up at the end.

    Zangief, who are ya?

Uranus' Super looks like Abel's Ultra - lots of small hits, then the FINISH!

This post is doubly funny because it disregards Street Fighter 1 as having ever existed :D

Street Fighter is like Star Trek films, no one gives a f*&k about the first one.

Probably something to do with the ****storm that went on between AVGN & Nostalgic Critic - Yes, it says that in the title, but I mean it was likely made by a fan. They made one of 'AVGN' winning and the NC winning... Lunatics.

I thought that was all a joke? What went on between them

  • Moderators, Music Moderators Posts: 25,868 Mod ✭✭✭✭Doctor DooM

Wasn't that rivally a joke generated to sell some form of nerdy card game featuring both the Nostalgia Critic and AVGN?

More Street Fighter meets religion (check out 2:10).

Sorry if this offends anyone but if you're the type of person who doesn't find criticism of the bible funny don't watch.

Not a video, but a fantastic retrospective article on SFIV from Eurogamer.

Really captures for me why the game is so great and why it's played so much.

    Nice
Many videogames are simply there to act as quicksand distractions, rewarding player investment with a litany of virtual, meaningless trinkets: a new ability for your character here, a badge for your conquests there. Even Modern Warfare 2, an FPS with an expansive, celebrated competitive online component, relies heavily on MMO-style unlocks to keep players investing. These canny rewards may give the illusion of progression, but they muddy the purity of the competitive experience, as some players find themselves more powerful than others, those who have spent the most time with the game favoured over newcomers. Street Fighter IV, by contrast, rewards player investment by levelling its player up, not its character.

This was a great point imo.
