I make all kinds of movies, mostly short movies but I have also made some longer documentaries and music videos. I have studied journalism and film making for 6 years. I also started to make a documentary for an animal rights group in Norway but since I did not live in Oslo at the time it was difficult so I canceled the project, but I would really like to make some animal right films in the future. When it comes to games I mostly play Xbox360 games, sometimes i play pc games but not as much as before I got the 360. Genre of games I have to say stradegy games, shooters and RPG games like red alert 3, battlefield series and fallout 3, Oblivion and so on.

    How about yourself?
That's cool about the films, must watch them now, especially the one with 'explicit content' haha.

I've played red alert, fallout, oblivion etc, loved them. Am more into strategy and first person shooters these days becuase it is multiplayer and I love having a laugh talking to friends while I play, on ventrilo etc.
Love meeting up with them for drinks and LANs.
I'm not sure if you are into those but if you are, check out http://www.lanparty.ie/lans.php?id=89
There will be a lot of boardsies there including me.

btw Tar.Aldarion are you swedish? Reason im asking is because of your swedish sentence on your location.
I get asked that a lot on here in private messages and things.
I am Irish, that line is from a swedish song about a game I play, DotA, a warcraft III mod. It's my favourite game along with CSS.

Accurate video, ignoring girls in the dark for our gaming love. :D
Would love to go to dreamhack, in Sweden.

Have always wanted to visit Norway. I do quite like the look of it and it's liking of metal.

Just had a look at some of your stuff, the trailers are funny! Did you actually make the full length films or just the trailers?
I liked Esken/The Box. I thought I didn't understand it because it's in Norwegian but then I saw the name 'David Lynch' mentioned in the description ;)
Some great acting there too :D
The video's are well shot, do you shoot them yourself? What kind of camera do you use? The Taste The Flower trailer is very nicely shot.

And since I asked, I better show you some of my stuff too:

    <mod snip>[/URL]

I'm quite critical of what I have on there, but some of it's okay! I've been mainly editing for the past two years or so, I studied Film and TV at college and specialised in editing. A short film and doc that I cut are on there, aswell as some other silly stuff. Me and my friend are just finishing off a music video now though and I think it's an improvement on earlier stuff.

Anyway, thanks for the links to your vids, let me know what you think of mine if you get a chance to have a look :)

Another film maker! Another chance to ask 'what kind of films do you make?' in a seedy way. :pac:

Watched pilfering Esmerelda so far outside the eye, very funny. :D

my little brother jsut made this for a laugh on the day making it up as they went along, the guy in the marshall shirt, they don't do filming or know anything about it but I can't wait to get involved in the next one hopefully as I think it's great, haha.

Anyone who's seen Esmerelda always say 'surely all the pesky thieves should have come and taken her away in the end???' It would've been a way better ending but I just didn't think of it. Maybe because we only had two hours with the camera and then my sister had to go to work or college or someplace (she's the leading lady you see!)
But yeah, Lough Atalia's a great location, hee hee, almost as exciting as Barna Woods!

Your brother's video's hilarious! Never have I seen such an authentic portrayal of rage :D and 'other emotions'!
And interesting use of the music from the film I can never spell... Will have to look it up... Koyaanisqatsi, yes that's it...

Ah no she has to be left in despair! I assumed it was you in it. The boy bit was great.

I loved the 'other emotions' bit, can't wait for the featurelength!

  • Registered Users Posts: 537 ✭✭✭DonnieScribbles

But her despair would've been increased by her being ambushed by the crazy-hatted gang! Sigh, I live in regret :o
Nah, I'm taller than her, she is part pixie. It's me in the stop motion scarf video also on that page though. That was fun to do.

Feature Length?! This Mystic Stag must be a complex creature...

Well at leastyou said or I may have said hello to a randomer in galway. :)
Love the stop motion stuff like that vid, scarf attack! Have a watch with a camera on it that I got in secondary school and used to make little things like that. This is back when everybody was like, 'omg a camera wow' :)

Hey I'm new to this so thought I'd post here first. I'm a 21 year old student from Newbridge, Co Kildare. I turned veggie over the summer when in America on my J1. I guess seeing the American diet and food industry first-hand kind of made me realise how meat-eating can damage the environment and is all about excess. Some further research into the way animals are treated made me finally realise that I don't want to consume meat anymore so I have been veggie for over a month now - finding it easy really. :)

Anyhow, look forward to joining in the discussion here whenever I may be of use to it. Keep doing what ye're doing on here, I habe enjoyed reading it since I turned Veggie (and before hand too)!

    Oh and this is me.

I also liked your stop motion video, I really love making stop motion since it is really funny. I have not had the chance to watch any of your other movies yet but I will do it when I get home from work since we are not allowed to watch videoes here, stupid rule. ANyway here is one of my stop motion videos, hope you enjoy it even though it is in norwegian.

I played alot of LAN games before I got into the 360 gaming, I still play over the 360 Live though so I can play against friends in Norway. Sometimes I play Battlefield 2142 on my computer also but not as much as I used to do. Yeah you should go visit Norway, it is a beautiful country with alot to offer in both music and nature. Its a bit expensive but not that much diffrent from Ireland. I have heard that Dublin is the most expensive city in the EU and that Norway is the most expensive country in Europe so can be that big diffrence.

We did not make the full length films of any of the trailers no, we talked about doing it and also wrote a script for the Dead or Alive trailer. I guess we will probably make that some time because it is quite a good script, but it has quite a big budget so we have to wait a bit. About the Taste the Flower trailer we also started to write a script for but it turned out to be a whole other film so I will try to put that out soon with english subs. Esken is a very very strange film and no one understands it so even if you dont understand norwegian it dont matter since norwegian people dont understand it either. We have done everything on the movies ourselfes, shot them, edit, script, special effects, sound, everything really. We are 4-5 guys that just really love making movies together. We shot most of those films in college so we used the schools camera, its a Sony something HD something, dont remember, maybe a X800 or something like that. Its very good and made our films look much better than it should have looked. I do mostly the script writing and the special effects and I also try to act in all my movies.

As a said in another post I will try to watch your films after work today so I will give you an update on that later, but really liked the stop motion. And Im looking forward to see your music video, that is also much fun to make. I have a music video on my profile also called In the End.
Will try to put my stop motion in again:

Hey. I started off in NY, the flew to Portland where I worked for a few weeks (not a great J1 destination!), then spent a little time in Seattle before finally setting up shop in Huntington Beach, CA. Huntington Beach is great. Lovely beach, cool surf culture, nice people, and we had a masion between 14 Irish students! :)

Feeling left out reading all these intro posts - must be to do with my age - I've been vegetarian longer than most of you have existed by the looks of things; since 1987!! I must hunt around for a suitable youthful picture to upload.

Ah yes, back in 1987 I think the only veggie restaurant in the country was Cornucopia. Anyhow it's good to see a thriving vegetarian community here and I'm looking forward to contributing wit and wisdom as the case may be....

  • Registered Users Posts: 806 ✭✭✭AssaultedPeanut

Hey henryporter....Nice to have someone older and, no doubt, wiser in the veg forum:)
wow there really is tonnes of veggies on Boards.

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,089 ✭✭✭henryporter

I probably wouldn't have any more wisdom to offer that anyone else here, but thanks for the welcome.

I should have mentioned too that my geographic location is the north-east, namely Monaghan, however originally from Mayo, neither place renowned as havens for vegetarians. In order to make up for the lack of places to eat and shop for decent vegetarian food I've taken it upon myself to grow and cook whatever I can, under the mentoring of Dennis Cotter (Cafe Paradiso), Moosewood, and Deborah Madison recipe books, as well as the odd gardening course up at the Organic Centre in Leitrim (which is actually a great place to get a vegetarian meal as well).

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,057 ✭✭✭Sapsorrow

Ya that organic centre seems deadly I'm always drooling over the events booklet wishing I had the mula to do a course, it sucks being poor all the time :( I'm the same grow all our own veg most of the year and save an absolute fortune!

Thanks Tar.Aldarion - back in 1987 I was just a wee 20 year old, so theres the definitive data on my age.

Hi everyone, long-time lurker finally introducing myself here...30 year old male, been vegetarian for almost 20 years and vegan for just over 2 years (minus a few slip-ups when abroad or at vegan unfriendly restaurants). I went veggie because I love animals, simple as that. I had been gradually cutting out dairy for the last 5 or 6 years but decided to go the whole way and haven't looked back since. I may post a picture at some unspecified point in the future :p
