Hey Slidey I never seen any B&J Catalano side tippers driving about Perth ever, do they do much work up north still?

I think I have seen them out the far side of Midland. They are not on the site I work on but may well be on others.

4.2 non turbo. It's a bit gutless but chugs along all day.

They need the turbo i think, not so much gutless without it, should still pull a lot just very slow to rev or pick up speed. Lovely sound from them though turbo or non turbo.

It's 1973, standard ex British Army Series 3 half ton 12V Lightweight. Only thing special about it is that I borrowed it back in 1992 and piled it into a ditch at 40mph writing it off!! :o

It then got rebuilt on a new galvanised chassis so is pretty good. It was a culture shock driving one after stepping out of a BMW, can't believe I drove one as an everyday vehicle back in the 80s!

It needs the gearbox replacing, comes with a recon one in the back and the steering needs talking to. The petrol engine is really sweet.

Got rained off today, and we heard that there was an auction at a farm nearby so we went down for a looksee,

Some really interesting stuff at it!!: :yay

This thing was billed as a home-made tractor, and I guess thats exactly what it was!
    null_zps3fff90a3.jpg

This lovely landcruiser sold for just $1500, apparently only had low range working though, was very clean all things considered 8)

    Nice pice, keep them coming!

I think the truck is a Diamond T tank transporter, probably still with it's Hercules petrol engine as that looks like a LPG tank on the side.

I think you may be correct, the engine was indeed a Hercules! Huge interest in it, most popular item of the day by far.

Actually, that home made tractor also had a Hercules engine in it too!!

I will keep em coming, thank you!

Spoke to boss about it just there, and you are indeed Correct Sean, it was a 1942, with working engine and drivetrain, cab was in reasonable nick too! And I was wrong, it fetched 12, not 20 grand..
