Yeah things are a bit messed up for new users on here. It use to be grand.

Cheers man these days I'm pretty much producing house and techno and trying to make it slightly experimental but, also making it work on a dancefloor. I'm enjoying it and that's the main thing. Seriously considering deleteing most of the songs on my soundcloud cause most of them are over 3 years old and I just cringe when listening back now.

If you ever hear of any good raves or looking for people to get involved in getting something happening in Donegal give me a shout:)

You have some good stuff there man, don't knock it. If you're ever about Letterkenny and fancy a collab, bring a pair of headphones and we'll see how we get on. I'm more comfortable with house and techno these days anyway.

@Moredith. That's a damn good vocal. I've been generally working towards reviving what I think good music is from back in the day too. It's a shame that sound had to get so much more complicated because the music plays second-fiddle to the sound in a way that it never used to. It's like the paint is more important than the picture these days - a very strange perception.

Nice production, really nice percussion on this. I would have spread the percussion out a bit more maybe, seems like there's too much coming in too quick at some points in the middle, just my opinion. The synths wouldn't be my cup of tea but they're well placed.

When the synth comes in at the start, it sounds a lot like a 90s trance song and I can't remember the name of it:confused:

Thanks man. Yeah I was half thinking I had too much at times but in the end figured it fitted with the overall vibe.

Not sure about the 90s track. I must listen as if I'm hearing it for the first time to see if I can figure it out :-)

I still can't remember the name of it, thought it might of been an Atb song but no luck.

Anyway here's something new I've been playing around with, something housey.

Nice analogue sounding percussion. I love the break on the end of the kick loop.
The high synth works well with the deep vocal in has a good melody.
I wonder is the bass a bit thin maybe?
The pad notes add interest in the break but they seem a bit low in the mix then after the drop.
One thing I noticed and may it's intentinal but the volume of the hi-hats seems to drop halfway through each loop?

Hey, Hardstyle track i'm working on, trying to keep it very euphoric and heavy! It's a private soundcloud link so if it isn't working please let me know :)

Sounds reasonably clean and the mix seems pretty good as well. Not my type of music but the arrangent is good and the melody spot on for this style. Only thing is the kick is all wrong in my opinion. I was expecting a good solid, heavy kick but the donk syle with the pitch bend on the bass notes just didn't work for me

Thanks for the feedback, kick-wise that's actually what the majority of today's hardstyle kicks sound like. Not everyone's cup of tea i guess :)

    Fair enough :-)
I remember watching something on shuffle dancing Vs hardjump. Out of curiousity are they both fueled by hardstyle music?

Yeah mostly hardstyle and tekstyle.. But hardstyle has changed so much, instead of a reverse bassline and a normal distorted kick there's now a more melodic and bouncy kick that takes months to make a proper one. It sounds unreal live!

Thanks man. Needs a wee fix up, the volume on the hats at the end of each loop is just the volume of each hit getting lower, thought it might make them sound a bit more authentic. Bassline needs more bass? I could defo bring up the level of that pad. Might release this as a free download when finished.

By authentic do you mean more 'human'. If so then I think you're better off varying velocity levels of random hats across the loop by a small percentage. It's a bit too steep as it stands I think.

A little bit more I would say

Here's an updated version, I think it sounds a bit better overall. Free download too if anyone is interested.

So I figured I'd post my latest track, which I completed last week. It's the first track I've been able to use my keyboard on and it made the world of difference as I could quickly and easily come up with the chords I needed. It's also brilliant as a source of inspiration as you can just play around with the keys and a particular sound, something I just couldn't do with the piano roll in Cubase.

Anyway, it's a remix though it sounds nothing like the original!

Is it Illusion rather than Imagination cos I can't find the original under Imagination.
Either way there's a nice progressive groove going on this track. Kinda brings me back to the late 90s or early 2000's, like a John 00 Fleming type of track. Some good stuff going on in the bassline, nice and deep. Cool melody coming in at 3.06.
My only comments on the negative side would be the synth/pad hit a 1.26, a bit harsh sounding for me. Also the snare could do with a bit more mid freq I think. Just sounds a little thin. But yeah, overall nice one :)

It's Imagination alright, though it hasn't been released just yet as there's another remix pending. I know what you mean about the synth/pad, though I think it's the only sound that's representative of the original so I felt I had to include it :) Thanks for the feedback.

Some really nice tracks in there, can't remember hearing any on here. They all sound nice and polished. Will definitely be downloading a few of them. Reminds me of older Joy Orb stuff. I was always meant to do the same with my old tracks with bandcamp, thanks for the reminder :)

I'm releasing an EP on the 9th February called "19,000 Objects". Its a mix of downtempo, ambient, trip-hop, and what I like to call "psychedelic dub reggae". :-)

    Here's a teaser: https://soundcloud.com/geisha-1/19000-objects-ep-teaser

It'll be on iTunes / Bandcamp etc. I'll post streaming links to the full tracks when they are out; also if anyone is interested in hearing more, give me a shout!

Class track man, love the 90's vibe to that arpeggiated synth. The vocal is wicked too!

Finished a new one myself just last night. It's been a few months since I've actually finished a track, lots of half and quarter baked ideas wasting away in the DAW :D This is more trancey than I normally but went for a 2am peak time vibe on it. Any feedback is much appreciated!

    Cheers man :)
That track of yours is well produced, nice percussion and nice 90s feel to the synths. Reminds me of start of the Blade film were there all at a rave. I'm just listening on ****ty speakers atm but if sounds good on them it should be great on monitors.

Love that low pitched acid line. Snare could be a bit brighter imo. The melody in the breakdown is cool although the second half of each loop sounds heavily detuned. Nice chugging percussion though which really brings that oldskool vibe.
Volume seems to duck every now and then although I blame soundcloud for that. It's often done it to my own tracks as well.

A softer version than the original but solid track. Nice chugging bassline and good percussion. I'd have liked to have heard the main melody worked through a bit more in the latter part of the track and the clap is a bit wishy washy for my taste but in general a lovely, rolling number.

Very nice indeed. My favourite of yours so far. Love that kick and general feel to the track. Only things I would say is I was surprised the synth at the start of the track wasn't worked back in later on.
Also the entrance of the main synth sequence at 2.20 is s bit jarring. Might be better with a more subtle integration.
    Lovely number in general.
