Everytime someone dares to speak out against travellers, the cretins in Pavee point and associated others start playing the "discrimination" card. How will they go about reflecting criticism for this? Probably some bull**** excuse that its "traveller tradition" to start fights with slash hooks.

    The sooner that:

    a) the travellers realise they have a completley pointless existence and **** off
    b) we sterilise the lot of them
    c) the inbred fools kill each other off

then we'll all be better off.

Alternatively we could just drop a bomb on the scumbag caseys and toast some marshmallows on the flames :D

At least one of them is out of the picture now and in time maybe they will exterminate each other. Good news for Limerick.

Not really good news if this was someones father and maybe one of the very few caseys who actually tried to stop a fight..

If it was 'da' casey that died then they will reak havoc all together as he was the only one who could keep any of them in line..

They don't go to pubs with bouncers but lots of small pubs can't afford security so they frequent these pubs. They don't cause trouble all the time when they are in small number's but once alot of them gather together they get pissed drunk and actually cause fights with each other or try it on someone else to provoke a reaction. You have to remember you are not dealing with human beings. These are animals. No wait, they don't even rate that highly. Most of time to stick to scumbag bars in the city who entertain that type of scum, so it isn't a weekly occurence with these vermin. Thankfully the law for publicans changed a few years back and now you can refuse once again without giving a reason. No more gettin taken to the equality board for discrimination on the grounds they are travellers. The guards will usually take your side if 1. they were drunk/threatening/in fear of your life. 2. caused trouble before and are barred. 3. suspected they were underage. Usually 1 of those reasons is in fact the truth. If there is only 1 or 2 of them they usually buzz off though. If they do get in and start throwing shapes, it helps to have a couple of tough barmen to escort them out or some local drinkers who just wont tolerate scum. You'd be surprised the amount of small bars they won't frequent because of this. You'll always get a window or two put in eventually though.

I thought the equal status act made it harder for publicians?Did the caseys not take a pub in town to court,Cholessys maybe? What the hell do you do if they walk into your pub??

The equality board is gone or at least they don't here discrimination cases related to pubs anymore. It goes before a judge now. There were too many assholes trying to setup publicans claiming discrimination, and the equality board capitulated too easily. But that has got old fast and the authorities are seeing it for what it is now..a scam. Of course the act is still there and you can't discriminate. But a publican can now refuse and doesn't have to give a reason also. That's a reversal on the previous law where they could refuse only on certain grounds. But you are always running the risk if you don't give a reason, that the scum will try to claim discrimination. You have to tread a fine line. But 99% of the time your'e ok as the scum are usally behaving like themselves (sub human) so the reason for refusal is apparent to all. Cops will in most cases take a publicans side anyway. Plus you have witnesses. Whether they testify is another matter but it's rare anything gets to court with this scum.

As for getting into the pub. Simple. Alot of publicans and taxi drivers in Limerick know when the "country family" are doing the rounds and keep in touch with each other. So you lock your doors. If it's only a few of them around they generally don't bother causing trouble seeing as they are drunken cowards in small numbers and generally stick to 1 or 2 scummy bars in the city. Plus some small pubs have enough long term locals to not tolerate any s*it and the scum know better than to try it on when in small numbers. But if it's a removal at Crosses funeral home then you definitely have to shut up. The only positive thing is when one of them get's snuffed late in the week as in this case. Then the funeral is Sunday usually, and a lot of pubs won't loose too much business since a bigger and bigger number now open after 6pm anyway since business is down. As far as I know the funeral passed off this weekend without a hitch. I believe the scum had their scummer relatives over from the UK, and had a hotel in Rathkeale booked for Sunday. They were also around Smyths bar on Friday and Saturday. And again no trouble. Probably the extra security put them off.

Who are the "country family?"..surely they didnt try symths?they would have huge security on,scary if they drink there. How the hell did they book a hotel out?

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,971 ✭✭✭Flaccus

The "country family" is the code word taxi's and some publicans use for the Caseys :D No idea why. They don't all go into smyths as one large brood. A few go in. Then a few more. etc.. Sometimes the bouncers don't spot it. Once 10+ of them are in, things can kick off. They didn't cause any trouble Sat. or Sunday. They reguarly go into Smyths in small numbers. I have only heard of trouble in their on 2 occasions with them. As for hotels, some hotels who will take bookings from them will ask for a very large deposit. Any damages come out of that. This is well known. The case you refer to with Clohesy's may have been the incident a few New Years Eve's ago, when 1 of them bought a large no. of tickets. They showed up outside the bar around 10pm at night in their highaces and the bouncers refused to leave them in. They left after a bit of a scuffle. Was a good laugh. Was watching from the window :) Never heard what happened in the end with regards to court.

Trouble only 2 times in there?..i cant believe the caseys are drinking in symths/icon...syrely hotels vett their bookings.yeah that sounds like a great laugh alrite

Most hotels do. Some don't or don't mind if a significant deposit is left especially if a large portion of the family are from the area. Has always been the case. Also, I could name half a dozen upmarket bars the Caseys have caused trouble in and attacked innocent punters. As I said they generally stay away from bars with door staff if they are very drunk or intend causing trouble. Lately they have been sticking to the more seedier venues from what I've been told. You know, if each of them had half a brain, they'd still have half a brain in total between them :D

So where are they drinking in upmarket bars?do the rumours get out of hand sometimes..i heard friday they were in aubars.then mickeys, then jerry flannerys, then the george in the space of friday afternoon in 3 hours

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,971 ✭✭✭Flaccus

No idea which upmarket bars they drink in currently as they generally drink in seedy spots i.e. Norberts. They do frequent Smyths and Riddlers from time to time but in small numbers. There was definitely a few of them in Smyths Friday afternoon for lunch as a family member spotted them. But as I said, there was no trouble. It's only in big groups when they get drunk that trouble usually starts. In small numbers you wouldn't even spot them. Also, there aren't as many Caseys around Limerick in recent years as a lot of them have actually left Limerick (pulled their kids out of the community creches).

I'd say they'd enjoy Riddlers in its current guise ! ;)

We kept our doors closed up the Roxboro Road direction yesterday and will be doing the same today. They caught the Mariott on the hop as a foreign assistant manager in there took a booking off of them, I don't know if they were actually allowed in. The word going around last night was that they were in Hassetts.

Haven't heard of any trouble though which is a good thing. Strange they were in Limerick last night as they were supposed to be at a function out in Rathkeale. I guess maybe there are lots of rumours going around. Then again, there is enough of them to spread around.
