Also what's all that about if Izzie could have carried the baby she would. It was her own choice not to get pregnant again because she was so upset emotionally by the miscarriage that she wouldn't give it another try. It's not like she couldn't get pregnant or carry a baby to term.

Exactly - I knew there was no issue with her getting pregnant! Nobody else mentioned it though and it was as if she couldn't get pregnant and that was the reason they asked Tina.

That cat is the image of ours. Ours is slightly smaller though.

Even drippy, soon to be demonic again, David Platt looks good next to those two and that's something I never thought I'd hear myself saying.

As my daughter would say there isn't a single male in Corrie at the moment that I'd tap.

Brian makes off with Roy's pastries. His forthcoming departure will surely be cardiac related.

I did think, though, that Brian's reaction when he overheard Sylvia's suggestion that Roy should give away anything that could not be sold before 4:00pm (he set the alarm on his watch and scuttled out of the door) was a great piece of Corrie comedy.

But they have been leaning heavily on Brian's voracious appetite for some months now, and I can only see one outcome to his story. Shame really, as I think he's begun to grow on me. Perhaps it's me that should be written out!

    Not even Jason?

It was a bit telling when they tried to scratch together a 5-a-side team, and just barely managed to get 5 guys who could run more than 10 feet with out collapsing.

I think Tommy is quite cute :-)

Yes, Dr Carter and Tommy are the pick of them, IMO. Peter creeps me out, don't remotely find him attractive and Rob's drawl/drone of a voice puts me off. I'd be like poor ol Sal if I were living in Weatherfield, I'm afraid....

Not even Jason. He'll start running to fat soon and lose his hair like Terry Duckworth.

A more unperceptive man I have never come across. If I said I was fine - he'd believe me. :(

I don't find him attractive and again he will start aging badly too soon.

The last fine bit of stuff in the street was when Steve arrived with his sparkling, blue eyes and look at him now. :(

Definitely no one to set my aging loins afire with lust.

FORMER Coronation Street actor Andrew Lancel has left court a free man and hand in hand with his wife after being cleared of child sex charges.

The 42-year-old, who played Frank Foster in the popular soap, was found not guilty of four counts of indecently assaulting a 15-year-old boy, dating back to 1994.

Lancel, who also had parts in Casualty and Heartbeat, was said to have "used his status" to "flatter and gain the trust" of his alleged victim who broke down in tears as he told the jury he was sexually abused by the defendant while at a theatre group.

Lancel denied any sexual activity took place and the claims were said by his barrister Andrew Menary QC to be "malicious lies".

Father of one Lancel was cleared by the jury, which was out for just 29 minutes, following a week-long trial.

Lancel bit his lip and looked to the ceiling as his wife Louise burst into tears in the public gallery when the unanimous not guilty verdicts were delivered at Liverpool Crown Court.

Judge Clement Goldstone, the Recorder of Liverpool, thanked the jurors who left the courtroom before the defendant left the dock.

The judge, speaking to Mr Menary, said: "The defendant was acquitted on the evidence and rightly so, but it is important that the complainant, who is clearly scarred by an experience, should understand that the jury verdict does not necessarily involve rejection of his account of a sexual encounter or encounters with the defendant.

"It is a statement that the prosecution have failed to make the jury sure that abuse of the type alleged occurred during the period covered by the indictment and in particular before the complainant's 16th birthday, now more than 18 years ago."

Minutes later Lancel walked out of court into blazing sunshine, smiling and holding the hand of his wife. He posed for photographers crowded around him but declined to comment on the case.

Lancel's solicitor Stuart Nolan read a short statement on behalf of the actor outside court. It read: "Andrew would like to thank his family and friends and all parties for their support and prayers. He just wants to spend time with his family."

The actor, from Gateacre in Liverpool, was charged in November under his real name Andrew Watkinson. The charges related to one male and the offending allegedly took place between Februay and December 1994.

It was claimed that abuse started when the actor visited a theatre group in his home town of Southport, Merseyside, where he got to know the victim. The boy was said to be "starstruck" by Lancel, then aged 23, who had just landed a role in the television series Cardiac Arrest.

The jury heard the actor allegedly started taking the teenager for coffee then back to his house where the alleged offending was said to have started.

The court was told that the complainant felt he could not tell the defendant to stop because he was "embarrassed and confused" as Lancel was an adult and a friend.

The prosecution alleged the sexual assaults, including oral sex and sexual touching, were repeated over the course of 1994.

But under cross-examination the claims by Lancel's alleged victim, now aged 34 and a professional ballet dancer, were branded fiction by the defendant's lawyer.

Mr Menary said for "whatever reason" the claims were malicious lies and no abuse occurred.

The barrister went on to point out inconsistencies in the accounts he gave to police and to his counsellors and suggested he was jealous of Lancel's success and profile, while he was struggling with his own career.

The jury also heard he continued his friendship with the defendant long after the alleged abuse, even contacting other friends on Facebook to get his mobile phone number.

The actor originally faced six counts of indecent assault but Judge Goldstone earlier ordered the jury to find the defendant not guilty of two of the counts as the victim had agreed while he was being cross-examined that he could not definitely say that some of the allegations happened before his 15th birthday.

Lancel made 137 appearances in Coronation Street as Frank Foster and 273 in The Bill as Detective Inspector Neil Manson.

I think so too. She had a very early miscarriage too as far as I recall. It takes guts alright to risk another one but billions of women do. Imo not a really strong reason for wanting a surrogate. I just wonder how bad her conditon is, would a pregnancy make it worse in the long run? The doc didn't seem to think there'd be any risks.
As a matter of interest, the actress who plays her is 38. Izzy's meant to be 10yrs younger than that.

That mealy mouthed bloody Izzie showed exactly what she thought of Tina - "bowing and scraping, threading on eggshells even when she to pinch me boyfriend" - she's managed to convince herself that Gary was blameless. If I were Tommy I'd pop a bunch of balloons beside Gary's ear when he wasn't expecting it and give them something to take their minds off the baby.

I thought it was too painful and hurt her physically carrying a baby to term because of her disability

From memory it was because of the high risk of miscarriage.

Corrie would want to up their game with Tina's departure. The pretties be a growing thin now and Maria the old reliable is fast losing it.

On another note, Has Emily dropped off the face of the earth?

That Tracey cold calling storyline is so bad it's like the actors themselves are going "Jaysus, did we just act that??". Cringe.

Actually felt a bit sorry for Tracey when the 3 supposed "mature adults" were acting like brattish children just because they thought her new job was a joke. How insulting for people trying to make a living doing that in real life. I'm sure it's no-bodies dream job but they really need to cop themselves on a bit.

Yeah, for people who do that for a living it must've felt sh*t listening to Tracy desperately trying to convince everyone that she's "not a cold caller:eek:". The job's supposed to be soul destroying enough without the soaps rubbing it in. As for Tracy..........she's lucky to get a job anywhere- the cv she must have.

Sounds like something that happened with Percy Sugden and Emily a long time ago. Where did he ever go anyway?

Is "cold caller" the proper job title? Sounds like it's a slang word of it, a job is a job.

I'd imagine it is a slang term. Think it applies to jobs where you ring up total strangers trying to sell something or other.

In the US it's called telemarketing and something similar here.

Dev in the alleyway story I think he set off the smoke alarm in the shop and went down the alley to see how far he could go while still hearing it.

He said he found a half bottle of wine in their back garden.

I think he is going to figure out that his wife heard the alarm in the pub and went to check it out.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Percy_Sugden

In 1997, Percy's happy life in the Street was shattered when the Battersby family moved in next door. Percy was unable to stand his boisterous new neighbours, so he decided to move into a retirement complex, Mayfield Court.

And that was the last we saw of him!
