looked up the pricewise tips last night on the betfair forum but it said there that it was extraterrestrial and webbow in the 3.25 at goodwood... ba5tards!

Wouldn't touch that 3.25 in Goodwood. Have seen Cloudy Start & Vitznau tipped elsewhere. It's wide open. 4 jfs at the moment on 7/1- 8/1 and 13 horses on odds range 7s-16s. Too close to call.

If you are betting PP have money back special for second.

This thread isn't about opionion its about a "system". We follow the system - blindly. :)

    » 2.45 Goodwood Harrison George 8/1
    » 8.05 Newmarket Last Sovereige 7/1

    hit F5 for updates.

These two appear to be the ones.

That's why tom segal tips in these types of races, there's good odds...

It's not about tipping a winner every day, if he finds one horse (or two in this case) that's overpriced each day it'll show a profit in the long term.

if you pick and choose which tips to back you'll end up missing out on a big one...
    Get on!

Hate when he does that. All will be forgiven if one wins though :)

Picking 2 horses in the same race may not necessarily be a bad thing. Tom Segal tries to work out how the race will be run (and more importantly won) using whatever list of variables he uses (draw bias, time form etc...) and in some races he narrows it down to one of two horses either of which he thinks will win. Besides, in theory he could pick the first two horses home creating a huge forecast and if you are betting each way you wont lose out if they place.

I would go as far as to say that I feel more confident when he picks two selections in the same race but dont critisize my theory until after the race is ran..hopefully i wont end up with egg on my face!

Maybe a reverse forecast is in order.

Harrison George very unlucky. Best by miles this side, beaten by the draw.

Look mate it's not relevant to the thread at all, these posts are cluttering up the thread. Info on how the horses performed etc fair enough but how much punters won or lost is a bit pointless?

No. Having only joined the board yesterday and seeing that Mike was just experimenting with all this I thought I'd have a small experimental bet on it (half my normal stake). In the big scheme of things it was probably the best horse in the race by some way and to get 15/2 about that is pretty good going, so although I've lost this time, I'm still encouraged and hope Mike keeps the thread going until I can retire if and when I decide to get 'serious' :)

Tom Segal picks two for same race sadly....

Extraterrestrial at 15/2 in the 3.25 pm at Goodwood unplaced
Spectait at 9/1 in the 3.25 pm at Goodwood placed

    Tom Segal

Markab at 10/1 in the 3.40 pm at Goodwood - Hugh Taylor on ATR has also selected this as his bet of the day
Brave Prospector at 34/1 in the 3.40 pm at Goodwood -

PP paying 5 places in this race. Horses are currently 9/1 & 33/1 respectively.

    GL to all.

The majority of bookies are paying five places. Bet365 also have a place-only market, which can offer decent value now and then.

2.45 Goodwood Harrison George 8/1 unplaced
    » 8.05 Newmarket Last Sovereige 7/1 unplaced

    PW-E

    3.30 Galway Carheenlea 11/1
    3.50 Doncaster Hillview Boy 7/1

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 30 Desert Orchid

Carheenlea has shortened up significantly but it's probably due in part to there being several N/Rs. Best price I could see was 8/1, generally shorter.

Anyone else noticed a drop in returns since the thread title was changed.... :P

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 188 ✭✭yaaaboy

Go On Get in therre!!! Hillview boy romps home pretty damn impressively last to first and wins by about 3 lengths :D

Damn I missed it. I thought there was only one pricewise tip today. I should have checked

To be fair when I put up the first PW-E selection I did say "could be one more to follow"
(its not visible as I tidyed up the origional post).

Just a note about Markeb, looking at the race report it looks like the draw got him, running alone down the middle.

True enough mike. I did see that but never checked it unfortunately. Not too worry

Cheers Mike. I backed both the PW-E horses for a nice profit.

3:35 GROUP 1 STAKES (Deauville, France) Reggane 6/1

    PW-E later

4.00 Galway The Tooth Fairy 10/1
    4.15 Cork - Dafarabad 9/2

    BUMP! See above :)

    Cheers, Mike.

The Tooth Fairy looks very popular in the betting - shortening up across the board.

Galway is notoriously hard to predict , was worried about that one today, the tooth fairy had strong field to contend with, :(

It is indeed hard to predict but no matter what happened after tom segal predicted a 16/1 winner on the opening day pricewise was never going to be down for the week of galway racing.

Bad day at the office today but the more losers we go through the closer we are getting to a winner i guess :o
