    Hello guys,

Firstly - great thread, I've been reading it with interest for the past couple of months, was certainly very handy when I wasn't a subscriber to PWE.

I've been backing PWE since April 2009 and since then I am 143.91 pts in profit - I usually get advised price 75% of the time so not a too shabby profit. Although the last couple of months have not been great, but that's the way it goes I guess. I've stopped backing Mel C's tips (he should go back to the spice girls) thanks to the stats on this thread.

Anyway, I just wanted to say thanks for all the stats and don't get too down-hearted about the run at the moment, I'm sure it will turn around.

Since you have been following PWE since April, would you know when Tom Segal's best months were? He seemed to be picking winners and sometimes doubles almost every week until jumps started. Maybe better to ease off on him too for a little? I think he hasn't had a winner for two or three weeks now.

Here's my month-by-month breakdown for Tom Segals PWE:

April 15 Bets 4 Winners +19.50 pts profit
    May 17 Bets 3 Winners +3.00
    June 12 Bets 4 Winners +21.50
    July 12 Bets 4 Winners +17.00
    August 17 bets 4 winners +17.00
    Sept 14 bets 3 winners +17.50
    Oct 15 bets 2 winners +11.00
    Nov 12 bets 2 winners +6.00
    Dec 14 bets 2 winners +8.50
    Jan 14 bets 2 winners +6.00

These are just his Pricewise extra, not got any for his paper tips unfortunately, although I do try and follow them.

Those figures tally with mine. Good work. I agree about Mel C's tips! Glad your thinking long term mate.

    These stats are huge.
An outlay of 140 points returns 267 points
30 winners for a strike rate of 21.5%
An ROI of just over 90%!
Are you sure these are right? I reckon you need an average price of 8/1 (actually 7.9 to 1)to achieve the numbers.

These are indeed correct.. my spreadsheet never lies :)

Also, I would like to say that they are not at advised prices - they are at available prices - you have to be quick and you have to have accounts with most bookies - even then there are plenty of times when I've haven't got the advised prices.

Finally I hadn't really looked in depth, but the above stats mean TS has made me a profit of 127 pts since April - which means the rest of the PWE crew have only made 16.91 pts profit in that time (and that is without Mel C for the past 6 weeks)) - almost not worth bothering with the rest of them.

Almost? :) I'm going for a sub at the start of the flat for TS PWE's and leaving it at that.

It certainly looks that way. The only danger is he went through a purple patch last year and he won't repeat it this year. Its a pity we don't have the stats for the last 6 or 7 years.
But even in the bad months Oct/Nov/Dec/Jan he still has ....
    8 WINNERS FROM 55 BETS
Strike Rate 14.5% Profit 31.5 Points.
ROI =57%............That is still huge, but it means you needed to get an average price of almost 10/1 for the 8 winners (actually 9.8/1). If I get time I will go back over 4 months and list the 8 winners and prices.

So then, it would seem my stats were correct you non-believer.

Also regarding "shame you dont have 6 or 7 years worth of stats" well as I keep telling you PWE started in February 2009!

It doesn't mean anything of the sort. You didn't post any stats for Tom Segal on PWE.
I am well aware when PWE started and I stand by my statement that it is a shame we don't have 6 or 7 years of stats. If you think you are being smart, you need to think again.

    Drumpellier 1.45 Southwell unplaced
    Dover’s Hill 2.00 Kempton placed

Dovers Hill is also a Hugh Taylor pick, who is colder?

Wayne has gone for Dovers Hill as well so it looks like we have a consensus. All we need now is Semipro to round off the team.

No I posted EVERY winner, AND monthly breakdown for all tipsters. You can clearly see, that if Segal is producing those figures above, then my figures must also be correct.

Do get off my back. Your showing to be a nasty piece of work.

How can you stand by your statement? The servie has only been going a year! There is no reasoning at all pointbreak. How can you have stats for something which wasnt even invented! OMG :p

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 103 ✭✭essexman

In his post about 6 or 7 years I think Pointbreak was referring to Tom Segal over that period in reply to my mentioning following him through the summer,

You can wish there was 7 years figures so you can get a better picture. Its a simple enough idea for most people.
As far as being a nasty piece of work.
It was you who tried to put us away on a golf bet so you could lay it off.
It was you who slagged off Semipro.
It was you who corrected my stats without any explanation. Making mistakes like boosting the RP strike rate to 12%.
Its you accusing people of being negative.
And its you making a ass of yourself by pouncing on every post I make trying to score points because I pulled you up on your golf bet.
Any regular poster can see that........... so go away.

Anyway I am drawing a line under his petty fighting. I received a very nice PM from a member today - and I have decided not to even let pointbreak get under my skin, he has shown himself up already on other threads before.

End of matter as far as I can see.

Lets just have PWE give wins wins wins, hopefully starting with Segal tomorrow! Lovely!

No Essex, I was just wishing there was 6 or 7 years of stats. I know when PWE started. Golfy boy just wants to jump on me when he thinks I have made a mistake. I explained it in my previous post to him.
