What improvement could i expect for a 07 Octavia vRs Diesel? 170 BHP

the only accord that will benefit from a remap, well a tuning box to be more precise is the newer 2.2 CDTi 143bhp diesel version.

also the Type R and the Euro R would benefit from something like a Unichip remap but you need supporting mods like full exhaust system and induction system to make it worthwhile.

what accord are you thinking of next?

i wouldnt be able to afford one of the newer ones... i was think of the 2 litre from around 2000. the new one is a beautiful car tho? not sure how much i could pick the older one up for though.

i was looking at one of these last year and made enquiries (sp)
iirc its about a 40bhp improovement and about 80Nm torques improovement!

these cars make great gains on the remap.

then no, a remap of any sort will not benefit you im afraid. best bet is to save the few quid, put it away and when you have enough to buy a better/performance car, do it that way.

any recommendations id be looking around the 5000€ mark as regards spending for one? not a big fan of cars like interga and the like cos i like bigger cars? is the 3 series bmw able to take advantage of remapping to its full extent?

    what do you mean?
a 1 series can take advantage of remapping. it depends on the engine involved.

theres no point mapping a 1.6 petrol or even a 2.0 petrol NA car, but its very worthwhile remapping a 1.4 Turbo Diesel car.

btw i would recommend Draffox's Integra Type R edit - just seen you dont like them, sorry.

that would leave me with 210 BHP and 430 Torques :D:D:D very tempting :) There seemed to be problems when i checked last year due to the DPF. Has this been sorted? and would i get 60MPG as well?** :D:D:D

** me thinks that may be a bridge to far!!!!

Is there any point remapping really slow engines - like 80bhp?

My car (Golf) takes about half an hour to get away from a traffic light...and it's new

Martin said he is going to email me a map tomorrow and i will send it onto you as soon as i get it. but judging by the amount of people that said they want it but wont pay the deposit, i dont know whats going to happen?

im assuming he cant give us a discount until he has 15 definate bookings, but only 7 have paid a deposit! i think 2 have said they are paying a deposit tomorrow so hopefully everybody honours their posts and coughs up.

looking forward to it myself, im quite happy with 165bhp, but i will be even more happy with 200bhp and nearly 400Nm torques LOL

its Shankill for sure, Martin is sending over a map to his place of work when we have all this confirmed.
no probs on the early slot, you can go first, ive no probs with that. as far as im aware there is a guy getting remapped at 8am so i presume we can start heading over to him for that time.

at the moment we cant commit anything as the people who said wanted the remap havent bothered paying the deposit, heck they havent even bothered to tell me they dont want the remap.

im hopeing a few more deposits get to martin today so we can be guaranteed the discount, but at this rate were not gona get the discount tbh, only half the people have paid...............

Bump for the thread. Hoping to get the map done tomorrow, told Martin yesterday that morning would be great for me too.

If it turns out that not enough deposits are paid what's the story then? Will this be delayed or canceled? I'd really like my remap so would almost vote for paying a full price tomorrow and then rebate when/if enough deposits are paid.

Martin has said that theres no way it will be cancelled on us, but if we have to run with what we have were looking at €300-€310, more so €300 he said for the remap, which is still a discount.

i get a 15% discount for being a member of bmw-drivers and when i got a quote 2 months ago, it was for €350 so even at €300-€310 we are still savibng a good bit. (iirc full price is approx €400)

i really want mine done too, so want this to go ahead, im booked in for tomorrow morning too :)

can anybody go onto this link : http://www.bmw-driver.net/forum/showthread.php?t=8455

and tell me if theres any new posts after say 10pm last night?

Ok, so I can pay the €52 by PayPal today, and that gets the remap for €280, right?

Is tomorrow (16th) full up at this stage?

once you pay the deposit, you can call martin and confirm a booking date and time that suits you best.

he said he can do about 6 cars tomorrow, and i think were up to about 5 or 6, but best bet is to send the paypal, post up here that you have paid and ring martin on 086-6090896 and confirm a time. Sat may be alright if you get in quick enough.

Yea good luck would love to squeeze a few more BHP but not sure €20 per BHP cost is a good return for my car (2002 525iA). I have exams around now anyway so it this event never going to be a runner for me unfortunately.
Make sure you report back your impressions of results.
