I got my RRS done by this crowd http://www.evolveyourcar.co.uk/. They supply you with a piece of kit that you plug into the obdII port to download and save the original map. You plug the kit into a usb port on your pc, fire up the supplid software and mail them the map. They tune it and send it back for you to load back to the car. The kit enables you to switch between tuned and original maps for dealer visits etc. I gained 45Hp to 235BHP and also gained 100Nm Torque. Very noticeable in the mid range. Very Happy with it. total cost was 500 sterlings. The kit can be used on other vehicles once the original map is loaded back to the first vehicle. They charge a nominal fee for further remaps.

They have a handy tool on the site allowing you to see the gains for specific models.

good gains there, autoremap do this too, they save your existing map incase of future problems. have you noticed increased or decrease fuel economy?

your asking for trouble imo, those cars are near to their limits already!

I doub't that very much, I am nearly sure the tsi 170 uses the same turbo (k03) as the 2.0 golf gti and it is well capeable of 250+bhp.
Pushing the 1.4 tsi to 210 shouldn't be a problem at all :)

im not debateing weather it can or cant be mapped to 250bhp, which i dont thin it can be but thats another arguement. it might have the same turbo but the whole engine is different to the GTi engine.

i just passed on the info that was passed onto me, if a mapper recommends to me that 30bhp is pushing it but 20bhp isint, i would tend to listen to him.

but the OP can get his mapped, and hopefully it will be fine, it could simply just be a case of different safety margins between different mappers.

no probs, custom remaps will not work on bog standard cars, theres no need for it. by all means start a thread about angels and get a list from there, but im getting my car done with autoremap either way, weather im paying full price of 350e or a discount price if we can get 10 people between here and bmw-drivers then i'll do that.

anyway, the 33% discount applies if you can get 10 cars iirc, but theres only about 5-6 people from here that will go ahead with it, the rest are from bmw-drivers and they wont use angels, Martin in www.autoremap.ie would come with much more rep than them imo

no probs about the toe stepping, i didnt mean to sound like a nasty old school teacher....... now get up there and do 50 lines :D

    i heard that too.

I never said it could be mapped to 250bhp, the point I was making was that 210bhp would not put much extra stress on the engine or turbo as the turbo itself is safe at around 250bhp. 20bhp over its actual (190bhp) output is just over 10% increase so not much in reality.

im only copping on now, that as you say they dyno at 190bhp in the real world, then autoremap's 20bhp gain brings you up to 210bhp so its the same map just diferent figures being quoted.

i know the 140TSi engine usually runs really at about 160bhp but wasnt too sure about the 170TSi, hope this clears it up for you :D

sorry mate, misread your post :(

yeah i agree, i was quoteing an increase of 20bhp and the OP said he would rather go to the north to get the 210bhp but in reality its the same increase from autoremap, i was just quoteing the 170 figure if that makes sense, sorry for the confusion.

but also dont forget the GTi engine is a 2.0 lump where the TSi is a 1.4 lump, so that plays a big part in the potential increases.

its another jap car im afraid, so i dont know if it can be done or not.
i cant hammer a price until we get definates from everybody, and i cant get definates until we have a day agreed!

price wise, its normlly 350e, but we should be getting it for max 300e but less if we get more, so i would be budgeting 3003 for the remap, thats what im doing.

well thy have other smaller mitsubishi DID cars listed with gains of 30+hp so id say I should be able to get it up to 200hp which should be noticeable?Sent them a queery anyway just to check.

yeah i know what you are saying about the price but if we get 10 of us and say that we could take it or leave it I cant see them turning down 2500 quid of a job when you take into account that there are no costly parts involved...

totally understand mate, we have 9 confirmed in the list from here and we have 6 from bmw-drivers forum, so were looking good on numbers.

we might get it down to that price fingers crossed!

Mitsubishi use VAG diesel engines in their cars too, the 2.0 DID is the same 2.0 TDi engine found in Audis to VWs. Maybe this is the one which can be tuned or remapped?

if it is, but is the OP's a 3.2 liter version?

i would imagine gains of about + 30/40bhp and 70-90Nm torques.

If you get him between 200-250 euro you will get many more people and thats good for him in recession times.I dont think many people are going to him nowadays.

If he doesnt agree then ask other companies that provide the similar service.

I would be willing to pay upto 250.

250 would be great! he said the last mapping day at bmw-drivers he got it down to 250e but that was with 20 cars.

just rang them..they dont do pajeros..pity. I know it can be done tho as i was gonna get it done when i bought the jeep 3 yrs ago but it was a bit expensive (500 ish)at the time..think it was a crowd in maynooth that told me they could do it ..westward engineering or something like that..come to think of it i dont think it was a remap they were ofering, but a diesel tuning box...(dont know what the difference is really)

    thanks anyway

martin in westward engineering can deffo do the pajero, but as you say, its not a remap, its a tuning box that needs to be fitted to your car. its basically a piggy back ecu that fits in and out in a few minutes.

gains can be good too, usually costs around 450-500e alright.
i know for my old D4D avensis, a tuning box and uprated air filter was 700e odd

Sorry mate, I will have to withdraw.

Car is off the road since yesterday due to the need of a new ECU (according to the dealers anyway) and I don't it's worth me puttin €1,500 into considering it's probably not worth much more than that. Could be heading ot the great scrap yard in the sky. :-(
