WaW single player was epic but all in all, MW was the shiznit!

I don't think its fair to compare them they are made by different companies and cover different wars, that said i don't think there is a more perfect game out there then COD4. Its flawless, everything about that game is perfect. I do like COD:WAW but its not even close to being as good as MW, i mean they have dogs running around for gods sake, DOGS!

Are you refering to the hounds in WAW? they would have been used in world war 2 so don't see that being an issue, also they are deadly on multiplay when you get them they usually kill at least 4 or 5 on the other team.
I much prefer WAW, can't explain it but prefer the multiplayer on it, I'm looking forward to mappack two which hopefully will be out this Thursday on the PSN store

CoD 4 is better by miles. First off, brilliant storyline to it, second, great gameplay, and third, it's pure awesome. CoD 5 is good, although I was a little disappointed with it.

But Modern Warfare all the way. Can't wait for Modern Warfare 2 to come out.

ther both great games but i sort of rather COD-WAW,because in COD4 online its a bit to hard but i do rather the campaign in cod4 but prefer the online in waw

I'm glad most people prefer CoD4 as it is, IMO, a far better game than CoD5! Pity Treyarch fooked it up. Had it been based on CoD4 with a simple skin I think I would have loved it!

I wouldnt go as far as to saw Treyarch f****d up.
Just think COD4 just blew everyone away, thats why its still 50 yoyos in the shop
But COD5 is still a savage game by any standards

'Fooked up' is a bit strong in my opinion. While the single player story wasn't as engaging, I'm enjoying the multiplayer quite a bit at the moment.

Is it as good as 4's? No, but COD4's mp is a marvel, there isn't a rock or shrub thats out of place in the maps - they are simply perfect. Some of WAW's maps are overly fussy and aren't balanced to the degree in 4. Others are too large and unwieldy for consoles limited number of players e.g. outskirt and possibly seelow.

There are some excellent maps e.g. cliffside, and the game as a whole provides just enough variety to make for good experience when you get bored of 4.

The origional COD1 is by far the best of the lot.
It actually took skill to play,not like the massive hitboxes we see in the rest of the series.

Couldn't agree more! That's why I hated CoD2 when it first came out! Getting killed by snipers who you can clearly see on the killcam hit the air a good 1 metre away from you did my head in for months!!! :mad:

CoD1, provided you had a good ping, was the most accurate game of the series. I played that game for hours and hours! MP44 and Kar98K were orgasmic!

The graphics are much sharper in COD4? That'd be quite hard to acheive seeing as WaW is a modifed COD4 engine. Looks every bit as good if not better then COD4 on my machine anyway, maybe you need to adjust your video settings.

Anyway, I've been playing WaW SP alot the past few days. It really is epic, much better then COD2. But I think that's because of my interest in WW2 and in particular the eastern front. The level at Seelow Heights is brilliant; I love the start where the Germans are beating on your character and afterwards you join the offensive and run past burning Germans stumbling from the cornfields. I find the Pacific levels pretty boring to be honest.

Going to start playing COD4 SP as well, I used to only ever play it online. I prefer WaW but there's no denying that COD4 has better crafted levels.

I think the real reason i preferred CoD4 over CoD WaW is because of the guns, no real reason for this i had both and i think that CoD4 wins for gameplay online although world at war is very similar.
I also think it was kind of a b*tch thing to do for Treyarch to steal the cod4 engine, why not be creative and make a newer better one than infinity ward's? then we wouldnt have this CoD4/CoD WaW problem would we.:)

Being a modified engine is not always better.
Sure it looks good but COD4 has say more colour variation so to some people it looks better.
What's absolutely unforgiveable is the sound in COD5.
It's absolutely shocking...from how crap the guns sound to hearing someone shooting at you on the left but he's actually to your right.
Plus having to run it in 16bit sound mode before Treyarch eventually released a patch.
The sound in COD4 was absolutely fantastic...you could hear enemies coming behind you...where they were shooting from and what kind of gun they were using.
In CoD5 it's blind luck really...as for the Sniper rifle sounds...argghh :mad:
