The 9 series will introduce a 40 and 46" screen size - due in a couple of months.

Thanks Ash. The 42-inch 42PFL9664H is on the philips.ie website, will you be getting it in? Komplett have the 37PFL9604H it looks like. I'm really interested in the wireless DNLA connectivity, I'm currently using a popcorn hour to play digital media on my (SD) telly so it'd be good to get rind of one box and remote.

Yes we should see the 42PFL9664H some stage this month.
It will retail around €1899.99 I'd say.
It's another exciting looking set. I look forward to seeing it in action

As for the 37PFL9604H this is a TV that wont be coming to Ireland I'm afraid but we will see a 40" screen size in the 9 series by September I've been told.

Ahh I hate being wrong......

I have to correct a little comment I made a few posts back.
We HAVE a new 9 Series in 37" screen size.
The 37PFL9604H just arrived into us yesterday...I didn't see that one coming - nor did my stock listings.

Here's the spec

As you can see its a step up on the 8 series spec wise and it shows in use - It is a SUBTLE inprovement and it builds on the foundation of the 8 series. I'd say most of that would be down to Perfect Pixel Processing and the 2ms response time.

I know I've said this before about the 8 series but this TV is pretty amazing looking image wise as well and would be ideal for those looking for the absolute pinnacle of Philips (or any other brand for that matter) 37" TV performance.

It's predecessor, the 37PFL9603 was widely regarded as the best 37" LCD on the market and this looks set to better that TV.

It's only €1399.99 as well!
