Well they are decent prices and i only need to keep in contention. It seems impossible to back anything with conviction and theres nothing i feel i can stick 100 on or waste 50e/w on and apart from the queen mother the racing seems bad tomorrow.

It looks to me like you didnt return the stake money when working out the winnings. There are a couple of disadvantages in that,
eg:
1) If I back Masterminded (€100 @ 1/3), I should get back €133, but in this system, I'd only get €33, so losing money even if I back a winner.

and more importantly,
2) if a player on Tuesday backed 3 losers with 3 x €100 bets, he's now €300 nearer to me than he should be.

Sorry if this causes a problem, but I feel it needs to be looked at.There would be no point in backing masterminded or indeed doing any ew bets if the system stays as it is.

Connie i think ur forgetting to deduct ur original stake while doing ur calculations
start=1,000
forpaddytheplasterer 50e/w wins at 8/1 winnings if 1/4 odds =600
this then becomes 1000 (-100 for stake=900)so 900+600= 1500?

no, the total is correct. Let's take your numbers to prove it:

you started the day with 1,000 and staked 400 in bets

your bank before racing commenced is therefore 600

how did you get on during the day? let's look at it sequentially:

€50 ew Forpaddytheplasterer(8/1 winner) = return of 600. (agreed)
Bank now 600 (opening balance) + 600 (bet returns) = 1,200

€50 ew Osana, (losing bet). (agreed)
Bank now 1,200 + 0 = 1,200

50 ew Drombeag (placed @ 7/1) = return of 137.50.
Bank now 1,200 + 137.50 = 1,337.50

€100 win Quevega (winner @ 2/1) = return of 300. (agreed)
Bank now 1,337.50 + 300 = 1,687.50

which is what I posted as your final total (well done btw) for Tuesday

babymaker6 is correct - you have forgotten about your initial stake when calculating your return on the day
