For what he's spent on that he'd have easily ran a petrol for years.

That thing will only appeal to a certain type of person, How much would that thing really be worth? CMST, MTEC whatever the fck that is. I don't know but I see a shagged up old diesel BMW that I would be embarrassed to be seen in. 30K and it's not even on irish plates ?

What an absolute waste of a 535.
    Shame on whoever did that.

Yes an idiot, just like the idiot who thought it was a good idea in the first place. I can only imagine that its a pretty much useless car.

Wouldn't be great over speed bumps.

I don't agree with the harsh comments though.

Lot's of younger drivers would love to be driving that.

Air suspension so bumps wouldn't be an issue.

But how many young drivers do you know who could afford 30k plus vrt to buy it? Nevermind trying to insure a 535d?

    Sorry didn't notice the suspension.

Of course very few would have the money and insurance would be prohibitive but my point is they'd love it.

I 'd say on the road that would turn heads.

I'm 18 so I don't know if I fit in your young driver category but I wouldn't drive that car.

OK fair dues, I'm in a minority of one thinking it has some saving grace.

Just for the record I wouldn't pay 30k for it but I'd love a drive in it and I'm a bit older than you!

    It would certainly turn stomachs.

Give me a 535d any day just not that one.

An unmolested, lower mileage, Irish registered, two years newer 535d M Sport can be had for €8k less on DD.

I love low and outrageous cars but I hate the obsession with diesel.

Wanna build a DTM style car? Build a car that may be able to compete. That’s how I see it.

    I love the last line.

"Will swap for a Ford Ranger or Nissan GTR."

Could there be two more different vehicles?

Yeah that confused me to hell.

That will appeal to the proper modified German sence which there's definitely a market for, you only have to go to Dubshed to see it

You know that 535 gets more bizarre the more I look at it. Who would swap a Nissan GTR for that? GTR's are like a super car for Gods sake, unless he means one of those 90's GTR's?
He will never sell that for anywhere near that price. Some youngish lad in his mid to late 20's with his rapper style cap, beard and jeans up his arse will probably offer him something for it because he thinks it looks deadly...

This post was fine until the part in bold, then it got pretty painful to read.

Even a 90s gtr is far cooler than the new ones...unless it’s an r33. Those are awful.

When I see a 5 series of this generation tarted up with tinted rear lights, blacked out windows and some funny aftermarket add-ons like 'M' series badges, It seems to be a lad that looks like what I described. It is what it is.

Somewhere at home is a bundle of Exchange and Marts (remember those!) from the late 90s where mk2 Escorts and Corolla twincams went for barely over £1200, max. Mk2 Escorts especially for a few hundred usually

I'll try dig them out when I find the time to do a clean out

While looking for a jigsaw, I happened to find one in the back of my fathers X1/9

    I wasn't lying about sub £1200 twincams!

Do you think Tony still has it? :p

There are plenty of gems in it, lots of stuff you'd never ever see again (Renault 21 Savana, Lancia Thema, MG Maestro tickford, Rover 8xx, Alfa 75's etc) and some of my own fleet making regular appearances, such as an abundance of E34's, W202's, Peugeot 406's (not a 607 mind you) and a lot of Z32's!

But, here's 2 cars that stood out to me some may despair over not acquiring 17 years ago...

There are more of those magazines about the garage somewhere, I will find them! :D
