50k for a Lamborghini bodykitted Toyota MR2... This might be a joke I dont know.

like the description "car"- really captures the imagination.
Also one of his pictures, is a picture of the DD ad itself

    "It’s all about the looks."
No, its really not. If I'm spending 50k on something that looks like a Lamborghini, I want it to drive like a Lamborghini!

14 year old 320d, NO NCT for 9 months, 313k on the clock.....€3000!.Worth scrap without an NCT. I would give him €400 if I thought I could get it through the test.

I think he will struggle to shift that car at that price. High mileage, and high tax at €906 per year. It may appeal to a guy in his early 20s that would buy it for the badge and extras, but the insurance would also be crazy.

If the yanks are paying big money for them then the owner should export the car.

Why would they export it though, when local buyers will pay it.

Its just your opinion that it's overpriced, it ain't..

He's even admitting that's it's a silly price, but all he needs is one eejit.

It doesn't help when your ad says the one eejit would be you to buy it!

I like these skylines but it's not worth 23k..... don't care what hp it has.

He mentions that the engine was rebuilt about 1200 times, enough to make me run for the hills.

600bhp out of an engine originally that left the factory with around 300bhp will require lot of attention, Some 600bhp+ super cars need a rebuild after 5000 miles.
Tell that to the yanks who are dropping up to $100k on them..

It will probably sell for €20k handy enough, when you consider the price of other delicious 90s Japanese metal these days, it's about right. When you look at its rivals - you won't get a TT Supra for that money either.

He's put a LOT into it.
Thing is, this is Ireland. There is no way any insurance company will insure a car with that level of modification. You're be answering "Eh.... Nnnno" on the part the part where it says "Has the vehicle been modified in any way". That's gonna make it hard to sell.

People keep saying Jap Sports Cars are dear now, but a look on Donedeal or Adverts or Carzone or what ever reveals that these cars are for sale for months. No one is buying them.
People think they are worth that money because: That's what they are going for in the UK. It's a different market here.

I've been keeping my eye on the market, thinking of another Evo. IX or X but not at €25,000, for a 10+ year
old Turbo charged Car with 80,000 miles on it. Dreamers....

    If you're caught, then Yes.
Although it can be exceptionally difficult for the insurance companies to prove.

How are they going to prove a car had 600bhp if it was crashed into a wall (IE not drive-able)?

A lad who works for one of our customers had his 200sx stolen. He was refused his claim because the knackbags who rallied it, put the video on YouTube or Facebook. The big bore exhaust, which hadn't been declared, was clearly visible in the video.

That's the last place I was expecting a Skyline to be damaged!

You'd only be buying that for the running gear

I posted something similar a couple of weeks ago. The country is gone mad!

To put this in perspective, I sold my 99 model this time last year for 2,800. Mine had more original bits, lower mileage and I felt it was sold for a fair price.

All the 90's jap stuff is only going up in value. Once they hit 25 years old you can get classic insurance and have one as a second car. In 5 years that car could be worth 7 grand with mint ones going for 10. Your not exactly waiting around for the cheap tax with them.

This, it's a relatively niche market - people think pricing on jap import stuff is mad but try and buy a pug 205gti or heaven forbid any ford older than a 95 these days and you'll see real madness :wow:

They only need to be 20 years old for classic with the right company too :)

Would they do the 20 year old deal on a jap import?

I thought some companies wouldn't touch Japanese cars for classic insurance?

Depends on the company. I could only find one company (Autoline) that would insure my 95 Jap Import but not until I'm 30 :(

The rest said they don't insure "that type of car".

They seem to apply that to certain cars and not others, they wouldnt insure me on an evo vii, but would on my current import (not an evo)

Their policies are underwritten by allianz, so a possible avenue to go direct maybe?

And I thought there wasn’t much meth in the country.

Also: Park old car outside fancy house with fancy stone = huge price. Nobody’s falling for that.
