Felt spec A4, my sister sold this yoke 2 days ago and was glad to see the back of it,
she had to marry a mechanic as it was the cheapest way of keeping it roadworthy:D

    What
    Mileage?

Exactly. Hard to see the funny side of it though! We all buy used cars at some stage.

it's all very suspicious. not least of all 5 owners, 45,000 miles in 10 years.

    falsified service book imo

service book says the car was serviced this month at 34k, and theres 48k on the odo this month. all the boxes are ticked in the top left "oil service" and "inspection service". the boxes on the right are ticked in too regulated an order, one yes, one no, one yes, one no etc etc. and it also claims to have had a haldex oil and filter change this service

this is also noted in the 4th service slot of this ten year old car.

i'd say if that car could tell stories.

From what I see it was serviced at 34k in may 2011 with the next service due at 54k or may 2013, whichever comes first.

That said, leaving 20k miles, or 2 years between services is a bit too much though IMO.

Can you verify a mileage at a main dealers? You can make out the vin in the tax disks picture.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,917 ✭✭✭✭Toyotafanboi

well spotted john. either way it's ropey imo.

Ye bang on the long life service option intervals for that car doing that mileage. The 1.8t suffers with oil pick up sludging so not a good option.

It was the 4 motion badge and the stupid exhaust that pished me off :p. Didn't notice the haldex service, I wonder did they charge for it :pac:. If a car has a claimed full main dealer service history can you verify that in a main dealer along with the mileages does anyone know?

i didn't notice the 4motion badge. was 4wd an option on these cars? that would make the haldex service legit.

It's an immobilizer warning light, but it's only half displaying.

They are not original clocks by the way. They came out of a Bora sport. That explains the warning lights being poor and probably also the milage.

You could get most mk4 golfs in 4 motion on the continent, i think the only exceptions were the GTI and the V5 actually, i've seen one and definitely not in RHD.

Not an Anniversary interior either , not even Ricardo.

Well spotted on the Bora spor clocks too.

I never thought the best MK4 GTI in the country would have Reps and that exhaust.

In lt's favour i would say it's probably a legit 180 and the price isn't too bad.

A dealer won't be able to verify mileage either.

Good spot quazzie , but aren't they also in the mk4 anniversary edition too from factory?

That, they did. Maybe he got them from the same car he got that fabulous Anniversary edition interior

Looks like a botch job either way to me, and whilst if the car was genuine with everything he says it is, it might be worth the money he's looking for, unfortunately he seems to be a spoofer. I'd be asking for engine codes etc to make sure that the car isn't just a 150bhp mapped up to 180bhp aswell based on that knowledge.

Tbh if got for 3k and milage is genuine that gti wouldn't be a bad buy all spoofing aside.

Lexus Cork and Blackrock. IS200d for 37.5 and 35k respectively. Who the **** would pay anything close to that.
