    OK, that's it, off to bed. Spread all my gear/food across the kitchen table and figured the first successful Everest expedition had less stuff with them.

    The rain is just bucketing down onto the roof, not an inspiring sound.

    Thanks for that Gavin, pity about the Garmin software elevation issue but at least now I have the course on the device and have a ballpark markings for the rest stops and summits.

    Should probably be in bed by now but can never ever sleep before 1am so one more episode of the West Wing and then off for a few hours kip it is!
