Puyol is an inexperienced youngster in comparison to Valeron and Manuel Pablo:D

    Great goal

Well worked and a fine header by Sanchez. No more than Barcelona's play deserves.

Ugh have PP live betting open and Sky Go. PP markets suspended about 25 seconds before the goal so I knew it happened before I saw it. First world problems :(

The tiki taka has just picked up a level or two.

He may not have scored and it may be Depor, but the team looks much more threatening with Villa upfront

Much poorer second half in terms of penetration. Messi very poor off the ball.

I think it just shows how great Xavi is when you see Barca without him. They just don't seem to tick over the same, they misplace a lot of passes.

Some move by Messi, quality finish too

I got shivers watching Messi there. He is super-human.

Words just can't describe the beauty of that goal.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,868 ✭✭✭Andersonisgod

It's exactly that kind of magical goal, that type of beautiful Barcelona move that they needed to set them up for Milan. That's a jaw dropping goal, you may not see many better this season.

Barca looking like they're going to need a miracle for Tuesday just to win their leg, never mind the tie. Current form is not good and although the win was deserved that was a really really poor showing. Even under Pep when the 'b' side was playing the attitude and approach was different. I think Tito is a huge loss for you guys and in many ways I sympathise a lot, Roura's not up to the task and giving how your team was before Christmas and even after (the rondos on Malaga) it's seems strange to think La Liga might actually be the only trophy they're in contention for.

Tuesday, will tell a lot and I wish you the best of luck.

Amazing job tonight, raging I didn't have my flights booked...there were tickets on sale last night for the game :( , but come Sunday night prices were too expensive on Ryanair to fly over .

I guess I'll check who we get in the quarters and book early this time :) ...draw is on Friday 15th, would love to see us get a German team, would be a great game.

Anyone know who got MOTM, I would assume Jordi Alba, the man didn't stop all night !
My nerves are gone, was the most confident and positive performance I've seen from Barca this year.

Absolutely clinical, none of the random over-elaborate passing for 20 minutes before shooting.

Also was absolutely delighted for David Villa !

Cheers for the vote of confidence :D and the wishing of luck, it worked ;):D

The difference Villa makes over Sanchez is unreal, I hop Sanchez steps his game up or fcuks off because ignoring by this seasons form he's just not right for this teams playing style. He is definitely a good squad player for the Copa and the lower league teams but is not good enough in the big ties.

The formation worked quite well tonight, it was tailored for the game and credit must go to the coach for it

Sanchez is a brilliant player, and is most certainly good enough to play at the very top level. He has just had a very bad 18 months for whatever reason, could be personal, could be professional I don't know. He may return to his for of old if persisted with or maybe he needs a move, himself and the Barca coaches will be in the best position to judge that.

sidlowe: A great stat: Barça have played 3 times on day of Papal conclave (1958, 78, today). They have won all of them 4-0. Via @filippomricci

    Spooky.

    Weird stat...

It's a great win, but the side had to go back to CL final 2011 style to do it. Pressing high up top, Iniesta back in midfield, Villa in, Fabregas out.

    Pleased for Villa

And that's the way it needs to be.
Keep Busquets ,Xavi and Iniesta together .
Fabregas upsets the shape and flow of the team ,they play better without him .

Delighted with last night. Almost puked during the last 15 minutes I was so nervous. Thank God for Robinho being an absolute idiot.

Again last night made me wonder why Adriano is seen by many as a flop. He came on and added some assurance and calm to a team which was panicking. He made some tackles and some good passes. He is the new Keita. Utility man extraordinaire.

Hopefully Galatasaray in the QFs and avoid Real/Munich/Dortmund.

Avoid Madrid and Juventus, I'd be happy.

Hopefully Madrid can be taken out by Munich/Juventus/Dortmund.

Ya, Madrid is the only one which would truly worry me. But wouldn't it be a lovely parting gift to Jose if Barca knocked them out?
