Simple Question plain and clear. Dose Ireland have an intelligence agency? not so much to say on the same ground as let say the CIA or the KGB, but an intelliegence agency so that Ireland knows whats going on around the world and isn't kept in the dark

No, we go into such places as Kosovo, Lebanon, Liberia, Ethopia & Eritrea, Chad, Bosnia, East Timor, Somalia and other dangerous places on chartered Budget Travel flights!..

We escort Prisoners, Cash in Transit & explosives around the country on 'a wing and a prayer'.

We look at possible future oversea's deployments on wikipedia.

Despite facing the worst internal security problem in Europe in the last 90 yrs we've kept a lid on us ripping ourselves to sunder's.

Yes, we've got an intelligence service.

But we don't have a public which credits any of our security services with even the smallest bit of respect. And thats probably the mark of a truely exceptional int. service.

    yes they definitely do!
I know a member of the defense forces who was questioned by intelligence because he was engaged a girl who had IRA links in her family,he said it was scary exactly how much they new and had obviously been watching them
