Does anyone know if work on the N7 Nenagh To Limerick construction is going through difficulties? I have noticed that work at both the roundabout at the Finnegans exit and the Birdhill exit has virtually come to a standstill since Christmas. The project was well ahead of time a few months back, but things do seem to have…

€210 million was the total cost of the Ballinasloe-Athlone scheme. A motorway roughly costs 10 million per km. That regional rd link wouldnt cost that much as the route would be curving all over the place avoiding rail lines, roads and houses with at-grade junctions. It wouldnt cost that much tbh.

Heck - you are right again - €210 million per the NRA website. (Does that include land?) . I read €600m somewhere - possibly in the Irish Times or a similar anti-roads organ. One cannot be too careful in these matters!

Looks like construction is expected to be complete on the Nenagh bypass "soon": http://www.nenaghguardian.ie/news-detail.php?article=QJD4KK . No exact date in the article however. I'm looking forward to this. The current 60km/hr stretch along the Nenagh bypass is the most frustrating part of the Limerick/Kerry drive at present.

The rest of the Limerick-Nenagh scheme still on track for this December according to the article.
