only 6000 miles  how can they expect people to believe that.

Yeah its obviously the 2nd time round! Those clocks only go to 99,999 and then start again.

you would be amazed how many small cars of that year are going round with low milage , have not seen miles as low as that mind you.

photos cant give you a good idea of what the body is like , but 01 alfa with 80 k for 800 euro , say it would come for 650-675:D

the state of the pedal rubbers steering wheel and gear knob (at least in the pictures) would support that low mileage.

Then again ...5000 miles out of 6000 spent in first gear, revving its nuts off aren't necessarily good for an engine either :D

Indeed there is but that particular car is in tatters. Looks like a lot of soot came out of the exhaust when it was started too

That's water, the thing is dripping wet, they washed it and reversed it back to take the pics :)

It is 106k miles, no doubt about it.

The car isn't physically lying about its mileage, it's just the seller didn't put in the advert '106k' rather than '6k'. It's an old style five figure mileometer, so it's obviously been around the clock at least once.

Just rang him and asked was the mileage genuine, he said yes, 106,000 K :)

So it is "current mileage reading" rather than mileage ;).

    I'm loving this Bangernomics idea.
I'm looking for a nice cheap car and have found a few lovely ones here.

I really want a car with a nice interior though.
Might sound weird but two tone seats would just about sell the car to me.
2ltr (ish) engine and around 2000.

    Any ideas.

    I love the volvo C70.
    Any opinions on them?

Tax may well rule it out but looks like it could be potentially be genuine yerrknow

Looks a fine bus, pity it has no leathers. Fresh miles though and a two year test is always good.

Is it just me or has this thread sort of lost its way when you see a 3ltr car looking for nearly 3k on it????

Not my idea of Bangernomics anyway.

Nice car though btw. Dont think he'll get near 3k for it though. Oh and I just noticed its manual and no leather either!!

The ad even says 'the clock resets itself after 100k miles'.

As soon as ad mentioned the car had more than 1 owner, that was never going to be 6,000 miles total

Driven manual and auto but much prefer the manual with the M57. The auto doesn't do it justice and drinks the daysul.

197BHP out of a 3l engine was pretty poor in '99, especially for a Honda engine. Sure didn't they get 158BHP out of a 1.6l way back in '89?

I agree to a point I've mailed him asking to see the history his landline suggests he lives about a hour away so if it's kosher I'd look tomorrow with a mind to get it at the weekend
