That belongs to my good friend. It's automatic, not manual, and the mileage is genuine. His car-nut cousin sent it over from England less than a year back, and now he's moving it on to make way for some sort of diesel yoke. I've driven it a fair bit, it's kosher.

Thats a very harsh remark, based on no evidence to the contrary.
I have no connection whatsoever with the seller but I believe the mileage to be accurate - based on the overall condition of the car when I viewed the ad earlier today. I worked in the motor trade for many years and have a good 'eye' for a genuine car...and that car looks genuine in my opinion.

I had a feeling it was a import from the reg. When was it imported did it spend a
lot of its life on the salt roads of England.

Yes, a lot of its 2,000 mile per annum life. I think you're being an asshole for some reason.

Its just that their is a lot of clocking going on on cars especially imports any car imported with low mileage will always ring alarm bellsl!!

Totally agree with Silvera, looks a lovely genuine car. I do think he is a bit optimistic with his price, but the best of luck to him. Someone will get a great car.

They certainly will. I'd have nobbled it out of him over a few pints already if I had room for it. My mother loves it too. ;)

Looks like an honest car and if someone is prepared to pay the road tax every year it will make very reliable transport for years to come. Its waaaaay over priced though and he will be lucky to get €3000 to €3500. The older ones are better bodywise but the newer ones have better engines. There are many low miler W124's out there and I know of one '95 E220T with a little over 23,000 miles on it.

I have first dibs on it!!

I think SM in this case means you'd have to be a Sado-Masochist to buy it

The sill rust would terrify me, those SMs were very complex structures and a nightmare to rebuild.

Old classic Fiat '70's barge. My father had one briefly, the shocking orange velvet inside sticks in my memory. That and the amazing sound.

Ba Barabus, Yes, I viewed it, the owner wanted me to buy it for e500, bot I declined. I put it on D.D. for him. It is wonderful what a coat of paint can hide. The car has also got a good cleaning, and the wheels re done, but I would say still lots to be done. It was on e bay a few months ago, and made some where around £.3000. It appears it did not sell, but he must have had several enquiries, as he does not want anymore Timewasters.!!

I find it amazing that all people who view (and most likely find faults) are time wasters.

I remember you posted it before. I assume someone bought it hoping to make a quick buck. I think someone said the paint job was poor though as well but maybe I'm wrong. I'd say it's hiding some demons.

Even the ad says it's a heap! The pics are no better. Dirty wheels, grimy front seats, rusted components under the bonnet, jaysus 2 hours of elbow grease wouldn't have gone amiss.

Im always wary of ads which mention timewasters. It usually means that people werent exactly snapping it up.

130's are expensive to put right, a bit like the lancia gammas. But I would still love one!!:D

If you're going to flip something then I think a new paintjob might put some off as they reckon (rightly?) that it's hiding something. If I was going that route I'd just give it a steam clean and fix up electrics/trim if needed

It's put me off before especially if I start seeing signs of overspray or filler. Even if they took pictures of the before/during/after stages I'd be happier
