It's annoying to you because you are a man. The commercial is aimed at women. Women love chocolate and love soppy music.
Despite the avatar and the non gender specific username... Tri is a gal :)

    Simple.

Music makes you feel good and chocolate makes you feel good. So imagine having both! Thats what the commercial is getting at
Bestialityand Fudgepacking at the same time?

My you are a naughty boy.

    Tee hee hee. *blushes*. I'm a laaady.:D

The avatar is me sans make up. I usually look much better than that having had a shave and with a bit of slap on.

OT - I'm not really a girly girl though.. So maybe that's why it doesn't appeal to me. I really think the ad's feckin stupid. But it's sure doing it's job in that everyone is talking about it.

I'm off to play with me willy now.

It not only made me want chocolate but made me want to make sweet sweet love to a guerrilla.

    Best.

    Ad.

    Ever.

I bet it's the combat gear and camouflage that does it for you...

I HATE HATE HATE this ad.

It's sooo annoying and it goes on forever..

And now instead of 'in the air tonight', it has 'total eclipse of the heart'. Two strong contenders for the most annoying song ever.

    aaaggghh

That about sums it up for me...didn't mind the first one (Collins) it was somewhat novel there was a bit of a wow/WTF factor, but then the airport one came on and I grew weary, now it's back to the f*cking gorilla but with Bonnie f*cking Tyler...jesus wept...

    *hits mute on remote*

and yet day after day on message boards all over the interwebs, goons like you are making threads about this very ad, ensuring that everyone who replies or looks at the thread is thinking about eating a dairy milk in the back of their mind for the next few hours. sounds like it works pretty well if you ask me.

It's not even the first thread on this board about this particular ad.

    Job done I think.

I reckon anyone who has a gorilla/advertisement/anger issue should direct their hate towards that new Glade air freshener ad. If they expect someone to buy a 2 in 1 motion sensor air freshener, then the least they can give us is some a properly realistic looking gorilla family. Pffff.

    Best ad ever.

If I ever see Carlton draught anywhere I will definitley buy it.

Also boycott cadburys products until they return to less annoying ads.

I don't like ads where you remember the ad but but forget the product. "Remember that great ad with the.... Dunno what it was for but it was so funny.." etc.

I've recently discovered Lindt so I find this feasible.

OK, this is the first time I've seen the ad, and I have to say I love it.

Although I think it's not the type of ad that should not be shown constantly, just a few times and then let it rest.

Really liked that Carlton one as well. Shame the beer is mank.

Having never seen any of the ads being discussed in this thread makes me realise how little I watch TV!

jeez relax mate its only the internet. and what was aggressive about my post? that i referred to some internet users in a vague sense as "goons"? clear the sand out of your vagina please.

Are you serious? This is brilliant! Defensive and funny.

I agree with the point you made. Although a little bit aggressive for something so trivial. But everyone has to be passionate about something, why not advertising. But seriously, all I did was quote Graham Norton in a light hearted way. Good day to you sir.

I just saw this ad on the TV for the first time tonight and I pissed myself laughing - the single greatest TV ad ever. As soon as it was over I found it on YouTube again to show the wife and we were in hysterics.

I was suprised to see on YouTube though that it was originally posted around Aug 2007 and had a Phil Collins song! The current song works so much better with it!

PS: I love the "Made from Beer" statement at the end of the Carlton ad. Genius.

The airport ad rules. It's got Don't Stop Me Now in it ffs. How can it fail?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 23,216 ✭✭✭✭monkeyfudge

If you think the Cadbury's advert is pointless and doesn't make sense... then say hello to Microsoft

Whatever you do... don't watch the longer one where the two of them stay with a family.
