Generally don't do it, unless its a really nice glass. Want to nab some of those Jameson branded glasses.

Have one of them, they're nice. Actually think it was my mam who nicked that one (Flaming thief :D). I remember one incident where my friend took two pint glases from a pub, put one inside the other but when she got back she couldn't pull them apart, maybe it was a sign!! If it's a really nice glass then I might be tempted

Boiling water over the bottom of them will sort that.

A friend of mine did it everytime we were out and at every opportunity. He only stopped because his Dad started getting pissed off at him because they were running out of space in the press :P

I was at a bar in Brussels a few weeks ago and we had to pay a deposit on the Kwak classes because so many people nicked them!

Is it really true that you can just ask for glasses? Is that only regular pint glasses or more specialist ones? I'm on the lookout for Leffe and Duvel glasses!

People have been stopped from boarding their flight at Munich airport for nicking steins at Oktoberfest.

I try to take at least one pint glass from each pub that I go to.

And if the glass is personalized to the pub there is no doubt that it will end up in my press.I have brought home home from a pub in a village in West Cork that had the pubs name printed on the glass. Also have one from Turkey and another from South Africa. Also try and take one for each brand of drink. So far I have Bulmers,Carlsberg,Guinness,Becks Vier,Smirnoff,Smithwicks,Budwieser,Tuborg,Harp. Cant think of any others that I have at the moment but my collection is still growing

My brother used to be a barman. We've about 60 pint glasses from him. He got Beck's ones a few months ago. They're realy cool

I have a cupboard full of pint glasses from bars. Lots of really cool ones, none of the crappy Tesco unbranded glasses for me. The pinnacle of my collection is a big litre glass that I robbed when the continental market was outside City Hall in Belfast at Xmas. Actually robbed a few from there but I feel that I deserved them given my regular and sustained patronage there.

Meh, if I have to pay close to €6 for a beer I should be entitled to keep the glass.

My record is 8 glasses from one night club in one night.

Used to work as a Barman and on my last day told the manager that I wanted one of every type of glass we had. He preceded to give me a big box in which to put the glasses and then gave me a lift home, so that I wouldn't have to walk around carrying a bo of glasses. I took loads from nightclubs and pubs up until about a year ago, when I no longer had space for more glasses. Getting some new shelf space next week though, so will probably start again - there's a few nice glasses out there that I've had my eye on for a while.
Ultimately though, knives, forks and spoons are what I primarily need at the moment - I just keep seeming to lose them.

Robbing bastards. Not that I haven't stolen a glass in my time but some people make a hobby of it? Ya *****.

they don't have pints in Oz (well in Standard pubs)

but they do have fancy smancy magners glasses, which may or may not have added to my household collection

Stealing whiskey/shot/brandy glasses is scumbaggery and you're a a thief if you do. Pint glasses won't be missed.

Sometimes - not normal pint glasses though, unusual ones like Kopparburg and a few shot glasses too. Took a shot glass home from a boards beers about 2 years ago, still hasn't been washed.

I've got a nice little collection of glasses. The world cup 2002 bud, erdinger and jamesons glasses being among my favourites.

On my last Christmas Eve back home I walked out with 5 stacked under my arm. Got me glasses from Guinnes, Bud, Fosters, Carlsberg and Heineken. The ma wasn't too impressed to see them sitting on the counter on Christmas morning!

No problem taking them. Got a quality one from the Belgian bar here a couple of weeks back. Massive thing it is. Usually fill it with milk for dinner.

It's not really "the thing to do" per sé. It's just when the chance arises, or if you really really like the glass. The magpie 'ooh-shiny-thing' kicks in and you nab it.

Stole a Kopparberg glass 2 weeks ago. It's a beautiful glass so I could resist.

I generally have small pockets and no bag in the pub, so I do not take the glasses.
