Good pic. :) Hedgehogs are making a good comeback here. They were gone for a bit over the last two years.

A kite pictured while looking for crocodiles in Australia. Google seems to suggest Brahminy Kite.

Got this shot today in Dublin today. I was looking for Kingfisher and happened upon a family of foxes. After stalking them for a couple of hours, out darted this lad out of the blue

First Heron I've ever seen in Athlone. Have spotted it a few times over the past few weeks.

I have two pictures of Heron?? which I took nearby. They are the same as/similar to whyulittle's picture I think.
It was my first time seeing it. It appeared to be on its own. I thought they go in twos?

Sorry about the picture - I had to zoom in to see it as it keeps flying further away when I was taking the photos.

What a fab picture. How you do it?!! - I love those kind of photos especially when they are in motion.

Thanks! As I said I happened upon the foxes. I slowly edged closer and closer to them. I was watching them play for a few hours when this fella darted out of no where. I was lucky I was quick plus I have good equipment which helps. He ran right by me and he had what looks like a bird in his mouth. Just lucky I was there really. I'll head back on the weekend and hopefully I get some more shots

Nice pic mate! I've been after these little blither's for a while. I have have caught one perching but it's out of focus. I know of 3 spots where they live as I see them zooming up and down the rivers. It's a case of finding that perching spot.

Any tips to help out? What time to go (I presume early morning) any tell tell hints as to where they might perch??

Also, what equipment are you using?
