Nice Bokeh, finch looks sick though :(

Yes, I think it was suffering from Trichomonosis. I have removed all the feeders so that I don't add to the spread of the disease. This was the only one I saw in the garden like this, it was possible to get really close to it before it flew away but never too far. The cats weren'e even bothered with it so I gathered it must have been sick.

    Excellent shots mikka.

Our regular and very tame hen pheasant (so much so that I almost stepped on her recently - and she was simply sun bathing not cowering in my presence) came through the garden with he chicks yesterday. She had departed by the time I cam back with my camera.

Very very alert and her nervousness was very obvious. So vulnerable.

Taken through a window. Along with about 5 others. Plumage on most looked very fresh - young perhaps.

Mrs Robin's second brood have hatched. Dad has disappeared - an intruder robin has been hanging around but not helping with the feeding.
As this little one spotted that the back doorstep is momma's feeding station I think her job will soon be over.

    397734417.jpg

Not quite chronological - this was the previous day when the little ones were still sticking to the hedge or the shed roof, and momma had to face the rain to keep them fed.

    397734414.jpg

There was some sunshine yesterday!! At least the blackbird thought so - I thought it was a choice between rain and cloudy spells.

Looks like a common sandpiper alright and I think the bird is a Willow Warbler. Mainly going on the leg colour which seems to be a fleshy colour. Chiffchaffs normally have dark legs although not always the case

3 Buzzards flew over the house today. They were a good bit lower than I have seen them before until they went way up into the clouds.

This little mouse lives at the bottom of my garden and recently has started climbing up a tree to have a go at the bird's peanut feeder! As I got closer and closer, she froze and I got lots of photos! :)

We saw a bunch of baby mallards in Farmleigh on Saturday - even had one hop over my feet. Went back for another look today and was lucky that it was nap time soon after I got there.
