    Delighted to finally spot my first Marsh Fritillary today, at Crosswood Bog. I've been looking out for them for the last few years at different spots.

    Spotted Flycatcher
    A pair of Spotted Flycatchers return each year to nest in Virginia Creeper growing above the door of the local village pub. It was late in the evening and getting a wee bit dark, so it's a rather grainy shot.

    Lovely shot! It looks like a Female Bullfinch. A juvenile Bullfinch wouldn't have a black cap yet as far as I'm aware.

    I don't post here much, just follow in awe of the pics. But thought this was nice a few weeks ago. Not crisp as out a window unfortunately.

    ^^^

    "There, through the broken branches, go
    The ravens of unresting thought;
    Flying, crying, to and fro,
    Cruel claw and hungry throat,
    Or else they stand and sniff the wind,
    And shake their ragged wings; alas!
    Thy tender eyes grow all unkind:
    Gaze no more in the bitter glass."

    Excerpt from "The Two Trees", W. B. Yeats
