Not the greatest shot I'll admit, but it's the closest one I've got yet to a raptor with my relatively new 300mm. lens(I really do need a 400/500mm. lens!).What's curious about this shot though is how close the rabbits are to the Buzzard. The Buzzard clearly isn't a threat from that distance,or is it?

A buzzard is quite slow to take of from a low post like that. The rabbits would be long gone before he would be airborne enough to pounce.

You should be able to get a lot closer than that to a buzzard. A 300mm lens will get you the shot to want at some point.

You're absolutely right Jazlyn Incalculable Yo-yo,I could have got a lot closer, but I guess wearing a bright blue raincoat doesn't help!:D
What are the chances of that bird being in the same area from now on?Earlier that evening(in the same general area),it was being mobbed by magpies and hooded crows.I literally got one shot of that and it was further away than it was in the first image above.
Buzzard being mobbed by magpies(two magpies just visible below the buzzard):

When you see fledglings sitting around like that, you realise how vulnerable they are to predation.
