I'm hoping they do, this system has delivered a disappointing 1.2mm here so far...that's shower territory, pathetic.

Its a developing system - I gaurantee you its going to get organised tonight with the East baring the brunt with persistent heavy rain off the Irish sea.

By all means write off an event after its finished, but before its scarcely started??

20mm overnight and a long time before this low pressure is out of sight

    25mm,
looks like a break for a while

21C in Newport Beach Harbour, with wind gusts up to 12 knots. Now that the noise and smoke from fireworks has long since died, us floating residents can get back to living among the now sleeping gulls at half-past midnight.

hmmm, up off enniskerry road in Dublin, field I haven't seen flood in 3 years is totally underwater and stream looks to be 3 or 4 foot higher than normal. Must have been a lot of rain overnight up this way...

Just went for a walk - lots of floods but stopped raining.

Here's a flood up the road from my house. Dog is enjoying it though!

    Heh, nice picture Arctictree.
Looks like our next batch of rain is gathering to the south east, probably here around 14-15:00 I'd guess.

Not too much organisation on/off in the rain that crossed overhead here last night according to the radar and from what i see Wicklow sure got a good few hours of constant rain.

    11.7mm here.
Oh and a side note, what a fantastic sunny morning here.

  • Registered Users Posts: 15,335 ✭✭✭✭Supercell

We certainly did get persistant heavy rain, between last night and today have 35.4mm rain which is impressive.
That rain in the SE seems to be developing nicely, looks certain to lash down this afternoon.

You need to host it first, I use http://www.photobucket.com which is free.

Then once you have the link to the picture you need to put it in between image tags:-
    [img.]http://www.photobucket.com/damo9090's_brillo_picture.jpg[/img.] (without the full stops)

Or you can just pm me the snap and I'll put it up for you.

Was in a beer garden last night in Cork city...it rained so hard it actually started to pass through the covering canopy.
We splashed our way home though which was drunken fun:D

Any one have any ideal if that high pressure west of Ireland at noon today on the met Atlantic charts will break the jet stream?

Sunshine here for the last hour, infact, one of the best days in the last 2 weeks. Not had any rain since 7am.

Roches Point just had 14.5mm in an hour.

Not much since this morning, 20mm today, 27mm in all.

  • Registered Users Posts: 15,335 ✭✭✭✭Supercell

Total since midnight 36.8mm with no end in sight.
That makes it the wettest day since i set up the station just over a year ago(prev record was 36.1).

There is water standing everywhere, never saw the likes of it before.

Sandyford: got a heavy shower 30 mins ago but eased off now, all standing water from this morning is gone and streams have gone back to pretty much normal level. Afternoon was sunny and warm.

Cloudy but not very dark clouds.

  • Registered Users Posts: 15,335 ✭✭✭✭Supercell

Still lashing here. 50.5mm rain since midnight, current rain rate 6.4mm/hr, looking at the radar it should clear shortly though.

Tipping down in north east wicklow. Sky getting darker by the second. No instruments so cant give measurement.

  • Registered Users Posts: 15,335 ✭✭✭✭Supercell

Damo , where abouts in Wicklow are ye?

I'm in Annamoe and its lashing again here, thought it had cleared earlier but that doesnt seem to be the case.
