OK, might not attract the right type of person, but it shows how you can use "humour" to highlight the place.

New players are the lifeblood of a business like CHL's. The staff are great, but the one thing that needs to be done is simple. A private member's club can be a slightly intimidating place to go into if you've never done it before. So make the new customers feel welcome and that they are the most important person around. It might need a little bit of subtle "overthetopness" to make them feel that they're in the right place. I'll have a chat with Luke about this the next time I'm in. I have a couple of ideas.

Card racked and shafted all and sundry on final; table to chop this with Rory from offaly and sam ali ina close 3rd.
31 runners gave macspower the old 4 outer on the river and the real badger a 1 outer for good measure.
9 handed and some wanted a 9 way pay out ffs 31 runners get a grip.
Loads of play super structure food was good too shame it clashed with se main event may have had more runners.

I would like to retract my comments on this thread about Tommy and his son,

I wouldn't like anyones judgement of these people to be clouded by my experience and people can form their own opinions

At the end of the day, I would like to just be able to go and play cards and not be shouted and roared at across a room.

I'm sometimes embarrassed to be male when I hear of the abuse Smurph has to deal with. The only reason she is targeted is obviously because a) shes female, and b) plays poker way better than average.
Can't help feeling that poker rooms are reminiscent of pubs in the 1950's.

What happened in the Fitz last night was nothing to do with slagging. It was very nasty and ugly. It was the worst behavior I've seen in a poker room.

The matter will only escalate if you continue to call people names on the internet. Why not let the matter die now. Poker in Dublin is a small community, continiously pointing out personal opinions like the above will cause more grief. The chap was allegedly banned. from the Fitz, publicly slating him is not necessary and in fact seen as it WILL be read, it's inflammatory........best to delete this post and move on......I'm not defending anyone BUT I can see a storm brewing so let's try to avoid it.

my 2 cents. ....also let's keep the real slagging for the chimps and me.......
