    Thanks for the help!

C720 is worth the extra cost then.

Some Chinese whispers (Boom boom!:pac:) of a possible Q3 rollout of 8xxx cards, like any such rumors should be treated as more than likely false until proven otherwise. Still not a bad looking lineup, especially pricewise, if genuine.

    Interesting times ahead.
Curious that the Curacao XT has 2 billion more transistors than the Hainan XT, Pro and LE.
Still happy with my GTX780 purchase right now although 7ghz on the memory clock is very impressive.

Someone here might be able to help me.

Just moved into Shanowen Halls beside DCU and my room is the furthest from the room with the router. My laptop, phone and tablet can all connect to the apartment internet, but my custom build with a PCI Wifi card can't, it barely detects it.

    Wifi Card : http://www.tp-link.com/en/products/details/?model=TL-WN781ND

Anyone any suggestions on solving this, better Wifi card, signal extender like this (http://www.argos.ie/static/Product/partNumber/9050563/Trail/searchtext%3ERANGE+EXTENDER.htm) or a USB wifi adapter?

Was looking forward to the fibre broadband too and now can't even pick it up!!

As a short term solution could you route the traffic through the phone?

Homeplugs would be the best solution if you have access to the router and the building shares the same power cabling.

Sorry meant to say them powerplugs aren't an option! Think it has to be one of the above options..

Yeah home plugs can often have problems in apartments because of the way they are wired.

It seems weird that your phone can connect but a PC card with a much bigger aerial can not. Perhaps someone could help with that as obviously the card is not functioning properly.

The desktop has connected to another apartment's Wifi now, still extremely low signal strength, but not ideal as if I need the box reset I can hardly land up to wherever it is and ask them!

I have checked the antenna is tight and the card is in fully and tight. My laptop only gets a 24% signal beside it on the list of networks in mint but thats better than the desktop was getting.

Your card has a removeable antenna so just get an extension cable and bring the antenna up higher in the room. If that's no good then try a better antenna.

Thats what I thought originally, got a wee app and the signal strength it shows for my room are at best -80dBm, its -90dBm where it is now.

    Something like this?

Yeah, or alternatively something like this:
    http://www.amazon.co.uk/TP-Link-TL-ANT2405C-2-4GHz-Omni-Directional-Antenna/dp/B000N40U9O/

    http://www.amazon.co.uk/TP-Link-TL-ANT2408C-Omni-Directional-Desktop-Antenna/dp/B001PSB582/

(The 8dbi one is probably overkill)

Your problem is likely to just be a deadspot so the main thing is just to be able to have the antenna higher up and move it around a bit to find a better spot. Put your phone down behind your PC case and you'll probably find the signal just as bad.

for anyone interested in the audio of the ROG itx, here's what the PR says:
The other three daughterboards on the Maximus VI Impact include the SupremeFX Impact, a sound-card with an audiophile-grade 115 dBA DAC, OPAMPs, and audio-grade capacitors; and an mPCIe combo card that lends it 802.11 ac WiFi and Bluetooth 4.0; and an ImpactControl card that gives overclockers POST diagnostic readouts and CMOS reset/restore at the push of a button, right from the rear panel.

more interesting i found is that it supports 32gb of ram from 2 slots.

    16gb RAM modules confirmed!

at the price of ram now i dont want to know how much that density costs.

Could this just be a theoretical max?

i imagine most Ram manufacturers are focusing ddr4 now as opposed to memory density

i think 16gb sticks are inevitable, on ddr3 and 4. there is just too much life left in 3 to ignore money to be made.

for DDR4 definetly but for ddr3 is it of benifit for the companies to make denser modules on a platform where the majority of people that may use it will probably end up on ddr4 next year.

16gb DDR modules is a product for enthusiast. above us and thats saying something(we broke a companys vat threshold ffs).

I cant see many people outside of professional use willing to drop €200+ on ram modules

it might sell well to business involed in computational but unless its out around Ivy-E i dont see it selling enough to warrent reasearch time

Took a gamble and went and got a Netgear N300 USB Wifi stick, have it up on the shelf, picks up a another apartment stronger than mine so I assume that their router is above me or closer anyway, also able to pick up my own just not as strong. Wanted the quick solution!

    Thanks for the help.

If you change the channel on the router, you might get a better signal if there's interference from your neighbours.

Theres two on three each on 1, 6 and 11 already. This seems to have solved it, getting between 4Mb and 13Mb with low pings so I'm happy.

Bitfenix's Computex lineup thy have attached a "prototype" tag to all the cases to nothing is official yet.

A bit dissapointed with the Prodigy M the Phenom M looks boss tho.

I'd be very interested in the prodigy m if i could understand the layout of it. Is that the PSU cage at the front with an upside down mobo?

Yes & Yes, for me it misses a lot of what was great about the original Prodigy, they have stressed its a prototype tho so there could be changes.

Think im gonna to go with a Phenom M if they announce it'll be available anytime in the next week or two or stick with the OG Prodigy.

A colossus M as well! Not flashy enough in comparison to the original colossus.

The phenom M looks nice enough, although what's that - carpet or fabric in the top? Do hard drives or anything go in there, I wonder. It could be just a dust collector.

I think its just a fan cover and that the light has hit it funny

however given bitfenix's taste with some of their cases i would be overly suprised if they announced one with a shag carpet exterior :pac:

i think the prodigy looks alright. its going to look the same on the outside as normal, but will have mATX support and better GPU cooling from the air up from the bottom.

it looks fine but i think they should move the mobo tray to the middle of the case and put the psu behind the tray. it is wide enough i think?

What single card would the graphics from an A-10 5800k crossfired with a 6670 be equivalent to?

Not sure, that kind of low end card do not scale well in crossfire.
I would think a 7750 would get similar results but the single 7750 card would run a little smoother.

    Silverstone cases at Computex:

A more polished MM01 mammoth, way nicer than the prototype that was shown CES. The new sugo loks good, and the Raven is still a plastic pig.
