It's to show your gratitude. There should be a "You're a f*ckwit" button too, though. Although, I think the Thanks button should be moved because people (ie me) will click it accidentally when trying to quote posts. I know you can take the thanks back, but I'm lazy.

It's a way of saying thanks to someone. If you click the little button to the right of the quick reply button, it will thank them for the post.

Agreed! And if you get too many then its an auto ban. Kinda like the infraction system but for us regular poster peeps.
