Derry - Letterkenny - Sligo : Rail

How long do we need to wait till they cop themselves on and stop ignoring the North West. A nice bit of rail from Derry through Letterkenny to Sligo...and on to the Western rail corridor..... People and even tourists.. could make a nice trip, a circle around the Island by rail. ....

I see this thread started off with another episode of the Railway Children - When are people go to stand up to face the facts:

Rail Transit is for high density population areas for commuting or for shifting large numbers of people from large metro centres to other large metro centres. This idea is even more lunacy than the ill fated and will fail Western Rail Corridor.
