Cinloom, yes OI is injections, mine was gonal f on days 4,6,8 and Ovitrelle on Day 10. Well you go for a scan on Day 10 first and if there are follicles there they tell you to take another shot. Then they tell you the best times to do the deed! I didn't take chlomid at all with mine so there must be different forms of it, I had gonal f injections first. For us IUI was not the next step, they have recommended IVF, from what I've been told they only use IUI if there is a male factor problem i.e slow swimmers or low quality etc

Good luck with the tests Roesy.

Thanks! Period arrived yesterday making my already crappy 10ish days luteal phase a measly 9 now. Have ultrasound shortly. Had bloods this morning and was told after that because of a backlog in our area she can't tell me when or if I'll even get them back!!!

I'm only on Day 24 but last month mine arrived on day 25, have been feeling quite sick and sluggish all week, would love if it was a pregnancy, but I won't get my hopes up, I know I can't get pregnant on my own, well that's how I feel after nearly 5 and a half years, onto IVF in January for me. I know how you feel though dublinlady, I 've always been wishing for a xmas baby, might happen for us both yet, who knows and fingers crossed

I haven't posted in ages. Half because I haven't got the time and half because I'm trying not to get so caught up this time around. Cd15 here and going by cm I doubt I ovulated yet. Funny but I'm already not hopeful... Repeated negative tests take their toll on you don't they?

I'm so fed up now... It's hard to stay breezy after so many months of disappointment.

Sorry to hear you're out Dublinlady. yep, bloods thing is ridiculous, I really hope they don't go missing. Had pelvic ultrasound last week and he wanted to do an internal one because he wanted a closer look at my ovaries so he told me to come back today to get that done. I have an appointment with my gp Friday to hopefully get the results of that and the Bloodtests.

It is very hard ladies, I'm out too as expected it came on day 27, over it now and onto the next month not that it is going to make any difference, I know in my heart of hearts IVF is what I need but I just hope that works, nothing else has so far, we were told we have a 50/50 chance with IVF, I hope that is good odds, nothing else has worked for us, really hope this will. Maybe 2015 will be our year ladies! I'm building a house at the moment so I'm trying not to dwell on it much... hoping it'll happen when I'm not thinking about it!

Hollywood I'm really sorry that ivf is the next step for you. I know how hard it is to face that. Once I accepted that was our fate I found it easier to get my head around.

50% is very good. We had a 1 in 3 chance of success. We weren't successful last summer on our first cycle. Only had one embryo to transfer. Found it very difficult. The second round in Nov/Dec I tried having a different mindset. Was so hopeful on first round that the disappointment nearly crushed me. I know you have to have hope but second round tried to prepare myself for the worse outcome. We were successful on that round. I know we're very lucky not to have to go through more rounds to get a positive result.

Before starting we both agreed on how many rounds we'd put ourselves through. That might not work for everyone though.

I really wish you the best of luck and 2015 is your year. Try be good to yourself. It is tough but worth it if you get a positive result x x

    Hi all

had blood tests done this month, the base level results were all fine thank God. my cycle is usually between 30 - 34 days long but they still took the blood test on day 21. progesterone level came back as 5.7, is this normal? could it tell me when i ovulated or is it too early? the nurse told me to come again next month on day 23 x x x

So as expected I was out last month. And now I am back in the 2WW.

Although I think I could have my dates wrong this month. I though I ovulated last Wednesday. However since Monday night I have been getting quite a lot of the ovulation type CM. Could I be ovulating as long as five days? Hubby and I have been like passing ships in the night this week as we both have work deadlines so apart from Monday night itself we have been BD free :( so if I am ovulating then this month I may be out as well already even before AF is due.

I did a pregnancy test this morning and got two lines, a strong red control line, and a faint but definite red test line. Thing is, I peed on the test instead of collecting a sample, and some of the pee splashed up on to the test screen part. I did another test since and it was negative, but the second one wasn't fmu. What do you think? I don't know how late/early I'm testing as my periods are all over the place. Negative test the last time I tested, 3-4 days ago.

Sorry you're out Shortie, Hollywood and Dublinlady. We could do with some more good news on this thread.

Went to my gp for my ultrasound results and the bloodtests had turned up alright. Thankfully neither showed anything we didn't know about already. I have an underactive thyroid which is controlled by medication and PCOS which I knew about but she can't explain why my cycle is shortening all of a sudden and hadn't any suggestions about my luteal phase, just put it down to PCOS. She said our next stop is to see a fertility specialist to talk about assisted conception. I wasn't expecting that, especially as this will only be our 6th month trying. Her reason was that I'm 35 and already have two possible obstacles. It just seems like such a big next step. Myself and my husband discussed it last night and I'm going to continue with the running and try acupucture for a while and see how things go in the next month or two but that if my cycle gets any shorter in the meantime or the midcycle spotting worsens then we will go and talk to someone. The heavy periods every 30-32 days was bad enough without having them for 5-7 days every 25/26 days.

Anyone here take B6? Read last night that it can be good for lengthening luteal phase.

i've been reading the benefits of taking agnus castus, if anyone gets a chance google it, the results look good, its a herb that stimulates the pituitary gland so it helps with producing progesterone :D

The only thing I changed the cycle I conceived was I took agnus castus so I'd certainly recommend it!

I found the side effects to be horrible so stopped after 2 months. On the plus side it did shorten my cycle from 45+ days to 30ish

What side effects did you have? I didn't have any but wasn't taking a super high dose

It's a couple of years ago so I can't fully remember but I think I had awful cramps and generally just felt horrible. I don't recall what dosage I was taking.

I took Angus Castus both times I got pregnant. I did have side effects like headaches & just feeling crappy. For me it brings on a period ( though whether it's a true period or not I'm not sure), I take it for 7 days then stop (so does the bleeding), within a few days I ovulate & ovulate strongly as in loads of fertile mucus, strong ovulation pains & blaringly positive OPKs.
It may not be the ideal way to get pregnant but it's what worked for me twice, first time the symptoms were a bit scary but I was more prepared for them the second time. I have long, irregular periods so being able to bring on ovulation was key for me as otherwise it was like trying to find a needle in a haystack.

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,323 ✭✭✭Roesy

My cycles are shortening by the month so maybe Angus castus mightn't be the one for me if it brings on bleeding. Might try b6 though. Having strong ovulation type pains for a few days now and on 5th high Fertilty reading on clearblue opks so if I get peak tomorrow or the next day it means I'm heading for an even shorter cycle.

Sounds like a positive to me, but do another test in the morning to be sure. Congratulations! :)

AF due today or tomorrow and I am pretty sure I will be out this month as well. Having the usual symptoms. Disappointing. Still, onwards and upwards.

Another month gone and I'm out. Pretty miserable about it today. Has anyone who managed to conceive at least once ever gotten they bloods done again? What's the next step?

I've had my bloods done 3 times. No harm in getting them done again. Have you been referred to a fertility clinic?

Not to a fertility clinic yet. I have an appt in the coombe in early dec but I think the referral was to see if I had cysts again. I've since had an ultrasound and I definitely don't. We're trying to go public this time as money is tighter. Might go to gp on Friday to get day3 bloods done.

Yellow hen, we're currently in our 6th month trying for baby no.2. I got day 3 done again there lately and an ultrasound as my cycle is gone even more crazy. My gp basically said cysts again and that coupled with the fact that I have an underactive thyroid she recommended we go to a Fertilty clinic.

Shur see if your doc will refer you through the public system. That's what we've done as as soon as you start into assisted reproduction EVERYTHING costs a fortune so we may as well save a few quid on the initial appointment! My own gynae is wonderful tho. I've already done 6 months of clomid, had scans, had a HSG and all bloods done by her before being referred.
