It's not stealing, it's winning. I believe the young people today called it being "pwned" (I have no idea what that means, but it's being typed at me more and more when I'm playing games online).

Steelers taking it a few years back was pure fluke. Roethlisberger is the luckiest sob I have ever seen. That ball never touched the endzone line.

Still though, if Packers win next it's Brady v Favre for the Superbowl AND the Pro Bowl. Grudge match anyone?

Damn Patriots ... lousy Superbowl stealin' ...

Ah well ... Steelers took it a few years ago so I'm still riding that wave.

i could never get into NFL
Too much starting and stopping for my liking

When I bought that SPR I did forego food. I even walked to work for 2 weeks instead of getting the bus.

You gotta play it a few times to be able to put up with the stop-start of it. When you realise what's happening during the stoppages you gain an appreciation and tolerance of it. The ads are still deplorable though.

    Ads are deplorable full stop

    They're everywhere nowadays

even in the cinema before your film or the trailers start!

Is there anything ads can't take over???

What did you think of that game ?

I have to admit I hated it at first, but it grew on me when I forced myself to keep playing. despite the buggy gameplay.

I was almost finished the damn thing when some weird bug caused the game clock to go into overdrive and a day would pass in 20 seconds. I kept starving to death in the space of a minute or two, and all but my earliest save games were out in a wilderness area, so I couldn't get to a settlement to buy food. Stupid friggin thing. Rightly Peed off, I was.

Not Superbowl ads. They're widely regarded as the best going. They're often only showed during the Superbowl and never again. They're usually as entertaining as the half-time show too. I must see if I can find some of the clips of last years Budweiser one. I remember it being especially good.

Sticking them on petrol pump handles pissed me off. And now a lot of garages have video screens at the pumps that cycle through shoddy, amateurish adverts while you refill. Arrrgh.

I spent years looking forward to it then when I got it, one of my graphics cards decided to crap itself so the game has been unplayable since then. What I played of it, I enjoyed and I had only just gotten to the anomalies. The game would have been great if it had come out when it was supposed to but it ended up being another Daikatana

    I know!!
You drive your car you hear ads on the radio
Then you see ads at the petrol pump and on your journey you're bound to see a billboard or two with even more ads.

RTE love switching to ad breaks during matches too

But the worst thing about ads is the annoying charachters they come up with...

    Daft Dave
    Barry Scott
    and even Harvey Norman

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,984 ✭✭✭NakedDex

In fairness, they stopped with the Daft Dave thing just before it got too much. They knew they were running that too far. Barry "My-voice-goes-up-to-11" Scott however gets on my tits in a major fashion.

And some ads can be good. Carlsbergs ads for example, they put a bit of thought into them and don't run them too long.

yeah that is really annoying, although it is only in the statoil stations and they have the best pumps. nice and quiet,. I can see customers of tesco sueing in a few years with an "army deafness" type case.,lol

Beer always have the best ads Carlsberg Heineken and Budweiser mostly

Barry Scott seems to have a cousin
The Woolite ads have a guy that reminds me of him except quieter but he still gets on my nerves

The time thing was maybe hitting a key by mistake that increased
the rate that time passed. It happened myself and loads of other people.
There is a Key you can press to re-set to normal time. I read bout it
    before but forget where.

I had this game pre-ordered I think for over 2 years from play.com
Riddled with bugs and feck all support. I initially loved it but
about half way through the game got bored and it kept crashing.
I got to the very end and it crashed over and over.

The ads that really get my goat are the ones that have really poor dubbing that are imported. They make no attempt to lip sync it at all.

I'll look into that, thanks. When it initially happened I did some Googling, but didn't come up with anything. It did get a bit boring, its true, but I'm so close to the end at this stage, I'd like to finish it.

    Kinder Bueno and Chuppa Chup.

I hate them so much, when I see a kid eating either of them I wanna reach out and smack the little sh1t.

They're some of the worst offenders. Cillit Bang does it aswell. What I don't get is, they take those ads in from Oz, that means they're speaking English. How hard is it to dub English over English?

  • Banned (with Prison Access) Posts: 11,001 ✭✭✭✭Masada

oh god i hate that cillit bang add., why the F*%k does he have to shout during the whole add?
another is the gillette adds where the bloke has stubble on his face and is in black and white, then all of a sudden he shaves with gilette and he turns into colour, owns a sexy car and has a supermodel on his arm.,

    rant over.,:D
