The only goose at bray Harbour among the throngs of swans.

I've seen that goose a few times down there thought he would make a good subject.

So which did you prefer, Monument Valley or Grand Canyon? :)

I preferred Monument Valley myself, much more impressive

the crow in the first shot looks pure evil! It reminds me of The Stand by Stephen king. The other shots are nice too

Great shots Andrew, really clever composition all round. I couldn't resist having a go at doing a B&W conversion of that crow with lots of contrast.

    I love contrast :D

That really brings the crow photo up beautifully..

    Here's a self portrait... in Dunnes :D

Thanks Kjt,I did a bit of work in lightroom.I used a toned down version of Fensters forest preset. It boosts the saturation, contrast, brightness, blacks just about everything but in good moderation.I think it's still on the forum somewhere,I'll do a quick search. Also I cloned out a few reeds on the 2nd shot,my attempt can easily be seen in the bottom left :o

EDIT:Oh wait I think it was nilhg's preset both are pretty good though. You can find it here http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=2055100740

Nice work all in all. Yea I remember hearing about that a while back and then seeing a swamp-load of lovely green forest pics. If anybody has it lying about I'd love to take a look :)

    Edit: Cheers Baz!

The dotty bit, with all the balls? I though that was just the shell exploding and then there's the plate up above that?

Now, I'm intruiged... I wanna know lol

i assumed they were the fragments of the clay pigeon.
if it's not clay pigeon shooting, is that a UFO in the extreme top right?

    could be I suppose,

shh don't highlight the UFO or we'll have the black helicopters around here soon trying to cover it up and remove the photo ;)

My assumption is that what we are seeing is the shot on its way towards the (clay) pigeon, with the plastic wadding that sits between the powder and the shot still on the same trajectory as the shot but maybe trailing behind a little.

Still, is this not what makes the shot great, you have to stop and think, plus if you know anything about shooting, you will know that Merv has the best case of beginners luck I've ever seen, or that he has put a lot of thought ,effort and skill into getting this shot.
