Yea really nice shot Dades, what does the LR filter do?
    Thanks guys.

To be honest I've only just downloaded the trial version of Lightroom and was trying out some pre-loaded filters. I think that posted version used "antique greyscale". The original was a bit drab (grey day) and this really perked it up a bit. Of course I'd rather not have to use filters at all!

Inibaz - love that shot of the shrooms!

Yep the first and second are sharp but the third is totally out of focus I'm afraid.
You should be able to see this on the cameras LCD when you zoom in after taking a shot.

Congo, Original taken in colour RAW. Edited into BW with a very small crop and some contrast added.

Kateos I agree with 5uspect. The third shot though is down to camera shake as there is no part of the image in focus. AFAIK the giveaway sign on incorrect focus problems would be that if the focus is wrong on the main subject some item either in the foreground or background will actually be in focus whilst with camera shake everything would be blurred. Although there is no real foreground or background in shot number 3 the overall impression I get is that camera shake is responsible. As an experiment try taking the same shot again using flash or alternatively try placing an object on the kitchen table and place the camera on the table also. Try taking the image by gently pressing the shutter button being careful not to move or shake the camera in any way. Do the same again but this time handhold the camera when taking the image. post both shots here and we'll see if there is much of a difference.

There's no harm in those flats being pulled to provide better accommodation for local people. What's up with your class fixation ?
