F*ck that. RIP bed. I'll never need it again with the buzz I'm STILL on.

Hopefully I can use the same effect to get me thru tomorrow when I wake up lego'd in the morning.

Hit 90.0kg on Saturday 9th October. Lifted in CFT, my balls are residing in Limerick for the next 2 months.

    Went;
    S - 180/190/200x
    P - 80/85x/90x
    DL 220/230/240x

    All beltless.

    <<Lemme get my 808...>>

    Squats (beltless):
    60kg x10
    100kg x10
    132kg 2x10
    122kg x15
    112kg x20

    GMs (paused):
    72kg 3x12

    Clean Pulls:
    60kg x8
    100kg x8
    112kg 3x8

Double OH Barbell Holds (thicker bar, from floor):
    102kg x15 count
    122kg x15 count
    142kg x60, 50, 40 counts

    Pulldowns Abs:
worked to stack 3x12 - all reps from deadstop

F*ck... my... LIFE. This diet is ruining me. The above was gut bustingly difficult.

The squats were WERD. First set with 130 went ok, second was tough. The 120's hurt my abs a lot, and the 110kg finished me off. Wanted to DL after it but my erectors felt like they were going to explode at that point. +10kg to everything next week.

Paused GM's are another reliable ab buster. Did what I want. +5-10kg I guess next week.

Clean pulls are like being butt f*cked. They hurt and the pain lasts. My hamstrings are still twitching an hour later. Such a weird movement becuase it's like enough that it shouldn't hurt, but it really does. I could totally do 8 DL's and 8 shrugs at the end with 10-20% more and it wouldn't come clsoe to being as bad as combining them. +10 next week sure.

Double OH holds hurt something nasty. Happy to hold on for that time tho. Will go to 147kg next week I think and try to get the same times.

Pulldown abs were all done from the stack in a resting position flexing my abs hard. Could really feel them working their little asses off. +5kg onto that next week I think. It's a cool movement.

I just had a great idea.

it could be the best IDIBISHDI ever.

I wonder would it work... hmmmm

If it's getting skinny and ridiculously weak like I did, Henners is already doing that :D

It's just how I'd been training and was curious as to what would happen. It's not like i was busting my ass training for it, so if it went tits up, which it did, I wouldn't have wasted a training cycle!!

I'm going back to beltless squats 1x a week, beltled squats 1x a week and beltled rack pulls too.

<<A lot of heart patients don't make it...>>

    Thrusters:
    60kg x3
    70kg x2
    80kg x1
    90kg x1
    102kg x1
    82kg 2x3
    72kg 2x5

    Standing Dumbbell Press:
    25kg 'bells 3x10

    Machine Press:
    plate 67 5x12

    Skull Crushers:
    40kg 5x10

    Rolling Dumbbell Extenstions:
    17.5kg 'bells 3x10

    Seated Dumbbell Powercleans:
    10kg 'bells 5x12

Solid enough. The 102kg thruster was tough, then everytihng felt so light afterwards. Up to 105kg, 85 and 75 next week.

Dumbbell pressing was harder than expected - shoulders dislike. I'll go to 3x12 next week.

Machine Press was good... banging the reps out. Up a plate next time.

Skulls were hard initially and got easier. Was f*cked going in from all the pressing.

More reps on the DB extentions next week, and just another high rep set on the reverse grip pushdowns.

Seated DB PCs were good.... probably hit 15 reps per set next week.

    Box squats and deadlifts tomorrow!!

<<Let me put some more vocab in your IV>>

    Deadlifts:
    60kg x6
    100kg x6
    140kg x6
    *belt*
    180kg x6
    200kg x6
    170kg x8

DLs standing on a 25kg plate (no belt):
    60kg x10
    100kg x10
    140kg x10

    Pendlay Row:
    60kg x10
    90kg 5x10

    Kroc Row:
    35kg 'bell x10
    50kg 'bell x19

    Strict Shrugs on Smith:
    50kg x10
    80kg x10
    110kg x10
    140kg 3x10

Graaaaaaaaand sesh. Had a chat with Ger earlier and told him to help me on my DL. He said alternate top sets of 6 off the floor and outta the rack til the next CFT, so that gives me about 4 of each, just try to beat weight each week. Probably gonna go 210, 220 and 230 off the floor. If I get to 230 x5/6 I'll be a happy camper.

DL off the plate = hello lower back. Jays!!! +10kg next week

Pendlay's nearly made me feel sick. +5kg next week.

Krocs - grrr. Tough to do at the end of a session, aiming to beat those reps next week.

The smith shrugs were awesome. Really nice feeling. +10kg next week.

Still low kcals (<2,100 - FML)

You're the first person who's strong that I've heard of doing smith machine shrugs. I can now IDIBISHDI them at some point. Nice kroc rows.

They're awesome... Once I'm standing up straight I sorta shuffle my feet forward and lean back a bit. Really nice feeling like.

The Kroc Rows weren't the best today. I think I've PR'd at like 26 reps... but there was a lot done before hand and I trained my grip hard enough on Monday too. I'd like to go over 30 reps with them.

would have thought the opposite on the shrugs (lean forward) thanks for the tip. Straps for the win wrt rows....

Hahaha it wasn't too bad. Felt decent enough after it.

The whole idea of doing the Kroc rows for me is grip improvement... so the straps'd kinda ruin that!

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 16,165 ✭✭✭✭brianthebard

that's fair enough, I haven't had to worry about grip yet, maybe some day in the future....It doesn't help that the db handles in nuig are basically fat bars after 30.

Out of interest are you still trying to loose weight, maintain, or 'rebound'?

    Haha that'd totally help!!

And I'm still cutting, just been too lazy to update my transformation log. The last 3 days have all been <2,100kcals and <130g carbs.

It doesn't help at all, I tried to hook grip them before and they're so thick I can't manage that, on a bb its not a problem!

probably too lazy as a result of the massive calorie deficit!!!! well done for perserving tbh.

    Are they hammer strength?

    Are they hammer strength?

have no idea. some of the benches and **** in the gym are hammer strength, but the actual machines are not, so its hard to tell.

The dumbbells in TF go like that after 50kg, the handles sorta swell in the middle. Serious amount of dislike.

    <<Ya gotta.... Ya gotta... >>

    Pull Ups:
    bodyweight x6
    +5kg x6
    +10kg x6
    +15kg x6
    +17.5kg x6
    +12.5kg x8 (w/ straps)

    Kneeling Pulldowns:
    plate 75 3x10

Seated Cable Row w/ parallel grip handle:
    plate 75 3x10

    Strict Curl:
    20kg x10
    45kg x8-5-4rp

    Dumbbell Preacher Curl:
    17.5kg 'bell x9
    15kg 'bell 3x10

    Machine Curl @ door:
    plate 35 x16
    rp
    plate 30 x13
    rp
    plate 25 x15

Did a lot of rows the other day, but no pulldown type movements, so wanted to get a few in today. Figured it's the opposite plane to pressing so it would probably help to do a bit. Weighted pull ups were grand, just gonna work to a top 6 and come back down with 8 for the next few weeks and see what happens. Up 1.25kg next week.

Pulldowns were aight. More weight next week, same stroy with the rows.

Curls were heavy today, dunno why, probs all the pull up volume before.

At 4,000kcals so far today - 290g protein, 370g carbs and 142g fat. I feel so sick. F*ck refeeds.

    <<Whatcha got ya can't keep yo...>>

    Foam Roll & Hip Mobility

    Squats (beltless):
    70kg x10
    100k x10
    142kg 2x10
    132kg x15
    122kg x18 - grrrrrrRAWR!!

    GMs (paused):
    82kg 3x12

    Clean Pulls:
    102kg x8
    112kg x8
    122kg x8

    Double OH Barbell Holds:
    102kg x15
    132kg x15
    147kg x40, 30 and 20 counts

    Pulldown Abs:
    warm ups
    stack +5kg 3x12 - all reps paused

Serious session. The squats were solid. The 140's went well, up to 150 on them next week, and +5kg to the 15 and 20 rep sets. Got thru 132 x15 alright, it was tough, but I coulda gone on. Gave myself a break coming into 122 x18 but I just died a vicious death on rep 19 and had to be pulled outta it. Was shaking like a leaf from like rep 10 onwards.

Paused GMs are nice in a sore way. I'm a fan. 92kg next week.

Clean pulls just suck. They do REALLY weird things to my body. It just can't handle them. I'll add 10kg to all again next week. An hour later and my hamstrings are still twitching from them.

Double OH holds were tough. I'm pulling from the ground so it adds to the difficulty. Up to 150kg next week and break my PR of 30 count.

PDA's were easy, but hurt in the right spots. Up to stack +10kg next week.

Kcals were 2,100 today. 202g protein, 140g carbs, 78g fat. I really can't wait til it's time to start gaining again.

Are the barbell holds just for grip strength, or are they more of a forearm exercixe? Or both?

Looks like you'll be getting a visit from Mr.DOMS too :D
