Nice SWB one there, 31500 R$ works out at 10,000 Euro!

All cars are expensive in Brazil, doesn't matter what they are.

I found one of them sitting in a housing estate recently too, looking very sad for itself.

Was it a silver one in South Dublin?

It's a 1.6 petrol GL (or possibly a rare 1.6 GLD) - looks like it could/should be saved.

I think a friend of mine enquired unsuccessfully about it a while back, I can check it when I get a chance.

Somebody was asking me via PM about the location of those two golfs so you are not the only ones who are interested in them.

The black three door - Nobody lives in that house apparently for years

and the other golf - There are signs that somebody might live there or at least somebody is visiting the house from time to time.

If some of you are seriously interested I can leave a note with a message/phone nr. in the letterbox, because I live in the area so it's no hassle for me.

I think that these cars are a 1936 Packard 120, and two 1947 Packard Clippers. Any connection with a guy in Kilcock who used to hoard Packards?

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,499 ✭✭✭Capri

That 1936 Packard 120 could have been from my uncle's barn in Kilbarrack

French spec XJ6 - '2.8 LITRE' and amber reversing lights mark the French spec (along with yellow headlight bulbs of that era as well )

Not quite deserted more forgtten about !!
Neither of these have been on the road for over 35 years. The B type is fairly rough but the C Type is remarkably sound.

They must have been fairly young when parked up? C type from 1975 -1980 I think?

Yes. You are correct. Spoke with the owner there who located the tax book. It C Type was first registered in October 1974 and was on the road up to 1984. The B Type was "retired" in 1977.

There is also a 2 door D Type Kadett in the same garage. Its a 1983 model on it's original local reg.

Interesting to see the 3 successive Kadett models under the one roof.
