The golf looked in reasonable shape, although the panels in those were fairly sturdy by all accounts

a lot of those still going, and looking worse than they really are, the paint loved to fade. A diesel one would be got going again real quick once the engine's not seized.

I'd say that it is banger racing in the UK and it is a Riley.

Anyone know what kind of wagon this is? Spotted it in the Balkans while I was there on holiday. Definitely abandoned.

Thats an absolute crime:mad:.We used to have a 1959 one that had about 2/3 inches of play in the steering, but she was going and used to go like stink in the highest gear which was dangerous having the play.Second gear on the high range banged like a good un:).One of the gear levers could pop out,and then would have to remove 4 bolts around them and line up inside:P. There was a fuel tank that we mounted on angle iron brackets on the side because its own was leaking. There was also a fuel tap on her that had to be turned off, which we didnt know about, and it flowed into the cylinders and locked them up.She was definitely used though. That owner should have been arrested:rolleyes:.

Notice how even in BTTF the van had a dodgy rear tail light. VW can't make nearside tail lights that work.

No photo but theres a Premier Padmini abandoned at a small garage on the outskirts of Foxford, I saw it about 7 years ago and the owner of the garage said it needed work on the engine and they couldn't get parts for it.I passed again today and its still there:rolleyes:

They're based on the Fiat 1100 and were (are still??)built in India
