One of a few hundred I took one day.
Its rare that you can see the back of the cockpit door from outside a plane!
Extra points for anyone who can tell me where this was taken.

Its in the states, but not California or Arizona.
Another one to whet your appetites:

Since the Singapore Airlines 747 cargo was mentioned a few posts back, I found I have some old pics from 2003 of one taking off. Click for full size.

    Cheers.

I have a load of pics from around then as I lived in Swords at the time and had too much time on my hands as well as lots of spare cash to buy a nice digital camera. Live before children really was a different world!

Just two pics of an IAC Reims-Cessna.
Taken with a Canon 450D and a new Canon 55-250IS lens which quite frankly I'm less than happy with (lens).

1st one has had practically nothing done bar cropping and 2 deg of sharpening.
2nd one has been tru Photoshops AutoEnhance.

In my opinion they're both rubbish and I might as well have thrown €250 in the bin as bought the lens. The quality is inferior to the 2 Tamron lens that I sold in order to buy this piece of crap.

I'm going to a big airshow in the UK next week and I don't have a decent lens! I'm actually sick as a parrot.:(:(:(

i know this sounds bizarre but have you tried to shoot with the IS off?

Hi Punch, yeah, kinda know where you're coming from, I've taken sample pics of a stationery object with IS on and off and tbh there is practically no difference in good light. Even at shutter speeds of 1/4000 the images are extremely unsharp. Do you think I should bring camera and lens to a shop to have them checked? I am staggered by how bad this lens seems to be.

Great shots everybody! Armin great to see you still in the Loop and getting better photography wise too, Andrew i really must say excellent shots of the IAC "Rockets" everytime they are above Galway they are always too high, even Vulcan has said that to me before and his lens is massive.

I'd definitely go back and ask to at least try another one,at the cheaper end lenses will vary from unit to unit

Great shots Qantas, the amount of smoke from FR is very telling, Micks pilots really do put them birds down hard.
