    Well with my film of the year, Children of God not in the running for a major award I'll just have to hope the Academy has a spasm and gives Ryan Gosling best actor.

    judging from the building blocks of a film (actors, script, direction, editing etc)

    and if one is to believe that the film that will win best film will obviously excell at a large number of these, then its pretty much between The Departed and Little Miss Sunshine for best film. (they both have pretty important aspects under their belt already, sunshine with script and supporting actor, the departed with editing and adapted script.)


    Buts thats only if you believe the oscars make sense

    Helen Mirren wins best actress

    Didnt want her to win simply because Sky wouldnt shut up about her winning...now its going to be a pain to watch anymore of it through them.

    I think the Oscars is more and more a case of delayed awards. i.e. awarding people who deserved it about 10 years earlier. I can't see past The Departed based on that even though I would probably go for Little Miss Sunshine myself if it was between the two.

    still think Best supporting actor Alan Arkin, Little Miss Sunshine was wrong and Djimon Hounsou, Blood Diamond should have won it. :(

    I dont think Babel deserves to win, and I havnt seen letters from iwo jima.

    Between the Departed and Little Miss Sunshine, I'd choose Little Miss Sunshine, mostly because while I enjoyed The Departed alot it was a huge step backwards for Scorsese and the film was very blun with its freudian addition to the original infernal affairs plotline.
