maybe they had already planned it though?

People should be aware that the exchange rate on Xe.com is the wholesale exchange rate and the rate most credit card companies will charge is invariably going to be less favourable (might only be in the 3rd or 4th digits - but still significant) AND they usually charge a currency conversion fee. So that extra 20c or 50c is nothing, and you may actually be getting them cheaper than you would via the Sterling route...

maybe they were planning it allready but as said earlier the

    Cheers

anyone know of a good site for books ?

I'm glad this seems to have been resolved. I like Play but I would have stopped using them if they hadn't sorted the exchange rate out.

There seems to be a lot of alternatives for CDs and DVDs, but what about books? I know there's Amazon, and Book Depository was mentioned, but are there any other sites that people might recommend, (particularly those that sell more then just the latest blockbusters and ghost-written autobiographies by sixteen-year-old Premiership footballers)?

I can't vouch for Book Depository, unfortunately - I've only ever used Amazon and Play for books. It was genie who mentioned Book Dep so maybe s/he might know them.

I was hoping someone on here might have some suggestions for alternatives I might try. If you do try Book Dep then let me know how you find them.
