From waterford and you have red hair..hmm, suspicious.

Anyway, the wardrobe is heavy as ****, but not fixed to the wall, so if you need you can turn it around for extra legroom.

So let's all do a group thing and tell each other about us!
I'm 21 and went to NCAD for a couple of years. Decided that it wasn't for me and now am starting pharmacy...

I'm destined to be in college forever.
How bout the rest of you beans?

    Why the suspicion?

I'm 18, just fresh from the LC, and I'm starting Computer Science, and I'm in house 91 in halls.

And if it comes to it I'll be moving that wardrobe.

House 91, eh? I'll have to keep an eye out for a red haired tallard!
You sound a bit like my little brother, in second year galway now. Ahhh...cute little freshers. Fresh meat! :D

I lived in house 91 last year when I was in halls, apartment no. 2, on the ground floor. Good times :)

House 91 was also the house that contained both Exhibitionist Girls last year, which my apartment had a great view of. This year, all I can see is Greenane. :-/

    Any chance of getting robbed?
Actually yeah a perfectly valid question, does anybody get contents insurance?
    Know anywhere decent for it?

I think it did happen once in halls last year, but if you take some care, such as not keeping valuables such as laptops blatantly on display in the kitchen / living room at night with the blinds and windows open, you should be fine. It's not something to worry too much about.

Yes, you'll get contents insurance provided by Trinity Hall, you'll get the form for it soon after you move in. Can't remember how much it costs, don't think it was much.

Saw that, but they didn't insure my laptop!? Crazy.. Maybe it can be added at extra cost.

All you'll have to do is keep it stored somewhere safe in your bedroom and you'll be fine. Halls is a safe enough place, you really don't have much to worry about.

Pet! There is nothing wrong with your view this year!
And as long as you don't leave the windows open, you should be ok - if you do, the latch can easily be opened with an allen key..
Anyway, from what I remember, they don't insure laptops.. which is ridiculous, because that's the only thing I'd really want insured.
Oh, and I'm 20, I'm in 87 this year, and I'm a SF Natural Science person..

Use Firefox, and once the authentication ****e is done, set your internet explorer proxy to proxy1.tcd.ie, and set messenger to follow that. Once you're able to surf the web, then sign in. Failing that, I'll set it up for you tomorrow.

    *cue porn movie jokes*

  • My MSN still isn't working, i must be missing something. Webmessenger just isn't the same really is it.

I followed the procedure Pet outlined and it worked for me. Are you using port 8001?

  • yeah....must be missing something.

use your local downstairs tech support centre.(i.e. abuse the cs student)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,389 ✭✭✭cianclarke

Yup, happening in 91 already. Two CS students in one flat = free network clinic, apparently...
