10lb salmon caught on a 20gram black & silver salar spinner

Ya a friend of mine laughed at me when he saw it 1st but they are actually deceptively deep & weigh nothing on the back with a magnetic clip release, dont even want to tell you how many salmon I have lost on days I have had no net!

had no problem getting him into the net as the fish was well played out before I landed him.

The weighing scales in the handle is very handy for catch & release, only goes up to 14lb though
    :D

aye its no bother if ur worming or spinning but if you're a prawner you'll lose a lot of fish at the net with such a small net

I presume you mean shrimping,or can ya catch salmon wih a prawn?
To be honest I havent the patience for it.
What about flyfishing, would love to catch a salmon on the fly :D

prawning/shrimping is the same.. but what we call prawns are a bit different to shrimp, they both work though but I prefer prawns (more whiskers) and usually shorter.
never got one on the fly before, the places I fish arent really suitable for it and I don't really like wading too much.

    I use tinypic.
Upload your photos to tinypic and it gives you a URL then copy and paste the URL to here.
Another way is to click the little paper clip above, go to manage attachments and hit the browse button to take you to the photos in your album.

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,061 ✭✭✭damagegt

Or upload to photobucket.it give you several option of picture type under the photo for different application i.e forums/email/thumbnails ect

Few mackerel - Loop Head Co. Clare

They look quiet good in that pic. I have always found they look ****e when lying on the rocks. I was fishing that area myself last weekend, had a few, nothing major.

first time fishing today in about 2 years.

spent about 90 mins, had about 11 on maggots and 1 on spinner. was only spinning for about 10 mins.

mostly small perch, one nice rudd (i think) and a small rudd too.

they were small, but great fun. delighted to be back wetting a line. oh, and the pike had fishes literally tail walking out of the water, thats next on my list.
