    Hi guys, ok i know this thread has been done before, but i am finding it really daunting finding a really energetic wedding band for my wedding in Septemeber i am looking for something a bit different and not necessarily playing all the classic wedding songs, but there has to be a really god vocalist who's good fun, any recopmmendations? have tried a lot already so need a long list! its going to be in cork but i think most bands travel anyway, fingers crossed someone out there has an good idea!!:)

    Were getting married early Sept and were having a band from Dublin Called The Scene - they played at a friends wedding a few years ago and were brilliant, went to see them in January and again, excellent and lively, so we booked them. Were getting married in Co. Waterford and they have no problem travelling - google them and you will see them. If you need a number I can give it to you.

    I do know of a really great wedding band. There called The Poorboys!! I saw them last year and I can't stop reccommending them they were fantastic! The singer got really involved with the guests played some really unusual songs for a wedding like Pearl Jam Depeche Mode and the Violent Femmes (all of whicj I really like as did the bride & Groom) they did do some classics to try to keep everyone happy.. they're website is www.thepoorboys.ie Good luck!!

    I'm looking for a band to play at my wedding on Friday 24th of September 2010 in Co. Carlow. Have tried about 5 different bands that we like but none are available so begining to panic slightly! Looking for all the usual stuff, would prefer male/female vocals but not essential and must be good craic. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

    Have you had any luck with your wedding band?

  • Registered Users Posts: 11 belle1234

    Going to see two bands next week so hopefully one of them will be what we're looking for. But I'm still open to any suggestions on a good quality band. Next time I get married I'll organise it more than 5 months in advance and I'll have my pick of bands!!

    Our band were Loose Change, they play in Gibneys in Malahide every sunday night. so you can go there and see them first.

    They were totally brilliant, everyone was up dancing all night!! I am serious - the dance floor was constantly packed.

    And, one of the guys did DJ after, so it was great.

    Loose Change - I seriously recommend them!!

    :cool::cool::cool:

    I have priced many bands and most are quoting betweem 1100 and 1400 euro for the night. Has anyone heard of "The Gold Band"? based in cork?
