An English colleague of mine thought Nad in Cork was a fierce funny name, as in "a kick in the nads". It's kinda near Bweeng.

Do they have a football team? if so you could get a load of "Go-Nads" tee shirts printed up:D

Don't forget Oola and Moira, they sound like girl's names.

Interesting you mention Newtwopothouse. There was a mention of an ancient settlement being found there, but they talked about Twopothouse, so wondering if the "new" actually means something (its very close to Mallow).

My personal favourite is Skiheenarinky. When the main road went through it, it didn't even mentioned traffic calming.

Was having lunch with one of my mates today and he mentioned that where he's from down in Limerick is called Knicker. After looking it up on the net, lo and behold there is a knicker national school! Is there any places you know of in Ireland that has a silly name (termofeckin sorta goes without saying)........
    It's actually Nicker.

Used to have a map of Meath in work and there was a place called Brazil just outside Swords. And there's a mountain in Wicklow called Toin Na Guith (probably spelt wrong) which means arse to the wind in Irish.
