    asus striker extreme
    4gb ocz reaper 2 x 2 sticks.
    3 x 500gb harddrives
    3 x 1tb harddrives
    1 x 150gb raptor
    3 x dvdrw drives. 1 with lightscribe
    700w ocz modular psu

    Old dead end tech...

Worth about 250 in my opinion at best, you might find a clueless person to pay more...no-one into PC's would buy that.

Not much for the same reason above, but at least you have a nice monitor/keyboard/mouse setup so it's feasible as a decent day to day machine....so worth about 300-ish.

Not sure about Shuttle as I've no idea as to their value for being a shuttle, Royalmarine....nice machine. Don't even want to being guessing. :D

Yea, really so what does a Core 2 Duo do that an AMD Dual core processor doesn't? Oh yea, thats right, it starts up your computer 2 seconds quicker.

Socket 939? Old technology, and totally non-upgradeable, the fastest chip available for 939 is slow in terms of the latest games....X1800XT....old, worth about 50 euro...I meant no-one would buy that for your crazy prices by the way. Someone would buy it for 250-ish I'm sure.

Sorry if the truths hurts but that's how it is, the fact you asked '500, 700, 900?' and then get so defensive when I value it would leave me to believe someone ripped you off. 500 euro brand new wuuld built a machine that would be about 100% faster then that one in games.

PCs are not valued according to boot time.

    Take a look here

Terror is right thats all its worth...

You can get a e2160, 2 gig ram, 320gb hard drive pc on dell for €260 put in a €70 graphics card and its faster than yours...

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 69 ✭✭knm

Ok, ok I got ya. I' knew that pc's lost their value over time, but I'm really surprised that they lose it that quick. This machine still runs Photoshop, MS Office, Bioshock, Quake 4, Doom 3 and anything else I throw at it.

First off....yes, I know that there is a link above for prospective sellers of PC's but I thought that i'd get a quicker answer here.
As i've most of my new build ready to go (undecided on the case yet!), i'm considering selling my old E8500 rig...specs as below. I had thought about buying a third 8800Ultra and running tri-sli in my new rig, but have since decided to go for a pair of 9800GX2's instead.
    Sale will be for PC only..(though I may include a Dell 2407WFP-HC,Logitech G15 k/b and a mouse)..no ancilleries. What's a fair asking price?

    Case:http://www.100cute.com/wp-content/uploads/2007/11/alienware-alx-cf.jpg c/w lighting system
    Proc:E8500 @ 4.2GHZ with Tuniq Tower,
    Mobo:Evga 680i Sli rev A1,
    PSU:Dell 1kw psu,
    Memory: Patriot PEP21G6400LL 4x1GB PC6400 memory,
    GFX:2x Evga 8800 Ultra 768mb,
HDD:2x150GB Western Digital Raptor hdd and 2xHitachi 500GB 7200rpm hdd
    Optical Drive: Panasonic MAT****A BD-MLT SW-5582 BluRay reader/burner + Plextor PX-755 dvd
OS: Windows XP oem with SP3

System has run a recent 3DMark score of 19,391 (with loads of running background processes:o )
I definitely...that's definitely, absolutely definitely....did I say definitely?... will not be splitting this system. If I don't sell it complete, then I will not sell it at all. Only reasoning behind the sale is that i'm considering getting into photography in a semi pro way.
Anyhoo, I await your comments :)
